^^^His last fight was on a network thats not known to have alot of boxing fights lolololol. BET is a network that isnt close to a hbo networks with ratings especially on boxing. You think GGG vs Monroe would still do million of tv ratings on BET network? Come on answer that question.

You can't take RAW numbers and throw them around.

    Ward - Rodriguez - 1.2 mil

    Kovalev - Sillakh - 1.3 mil
    GGG-Stevens - 1.4 mil
    Stevenson - Cloud - 1.2 mil

    E-rod got paid 1 mil $ and Ward 2 mil $.

    Golovkin's WHOLE card cost HBO like 800k while Ward's was 3 mil$ +

Do you see where I'm going with this? Stevenson, Kovalev and GGG produced better ratings with much lower investment.

Ward's ratings were not good at all for the amount of money HBO invested in. In fact in had negative effect.

Hearing from more and more #boxing insiders, that what HBO (over)paid for Ward-Rodriguez is now biting them in the ass...

Bottom line, other managers, promoters and fighters see what was paid to Ward-Rodriguez, and are asking for those numbers too #boxing

Yvon Michel told me earlier, Adonis Stevenson saw what Ward was getting and thought the HBO offer to him was not nearly good enough #boxing

Just think about it, Edwin Rodriguez not only got a million to be a B-side to Ward, he also got a guaranteed return bout on HBO #boxing

Also ward vs rodriguez that did 1.2 million tv ratings on hbo? Thats very good considering Rodriguez is worse then Stevens who is from ny (Which is where ggg fights at.)

Bottom line is: Ward's HBO ratings are awful when you consider investment HBO makes in them. He should pull Cotto/Chavez Jr numbers with the amount of money they paid him, but he DOESN'T.

1.2 mil rating for E-rod fight is a FLOP.
Kovalev - Sillakh - 1.3 mil rating with MUCH lower budget and it was on the undercard :rofl:patsch

Then it's hbo fault for investing in on ward facing a bum fighter in rodriguez whos worse then the last 5 fighters that ggg beats lol. So investment or not 1.2 Million tv ratings for Ward vs Rodriguez is very good.

No 1.2 is awful, Ward produces bad return on investment and that's EXACTLY why his last fight was on BET. HBO had enough of him.

And how predictable of you to degrade E-rod to an absolute bum to make Ward's ratings look good

It is good if we talking about tv ratings alone and not about investment and other stuff. And how would u know thats the reason ward fought on BET?? Ward has a new promoter which is not known to promote on hbo and ward had like a very long layoffs and also maybe hbo did not improved Smith as ward next opponent? **** happens and hbo is not ****ed at ward since ward still doing play by play on hbo lol.

Noone ignores that, it was just too long ago to be relevant.

At one time Ward was developing his career, and draw, and star power.

Then he more or less stopped fighting. After beating Froch, Ward could A-side pretty much anyone 160-175. Then he went inactive, and now has to rebuild.

And all of that considered, including Ward's promotional issues and extended periods of inactivity (largely his own fault) don't change the fact that the difference in ratings between Ward and GGG is largely negligible.

The big difference, at the end of the day, is that Ward has a better negotiating team than GGG. Ward's team is better at landing big fights, getting bigger purses, and maneuvering Ward into positions of home field advantage and various other measures favorable to him.

If I was GGG, I'd sure be rather unhappy with my team for not being able to do more for him - especially since he's supposedly "so much more popular than Ward".

How so? If you look at it in objective terms, GGG has made a pretty good run in the past 3 years. In the past 3 years Golovkin has done much better than Ward.

Sure Ward got a couple big purses, but in hindsight it seems like a Pyrrhic victory no? Look where he is at now.

Plus, looking at Klitschko fights.. seems like K2 is actually pretty good at the negotiating game as well. Ward did well to get home field in S6, but he never would have gotten those fights period if it wasnt for the tourney itself.

But Ward still cashes bigger paychecks.

    Why is that?

More than what the Triple Duck has ever made in a single fight for the whole of his career...
