There's really not much difference between Deontay Wilder and Gennady Golovkin.

Except GGG has a legendary amateur background unlike Wilder, he beat top journeymen, good prospects and former champions far more convincigly than Wilder did, GGG has never been down in more than 400 fights unlike Wilder who was knocked out by a LHW and down twice against club fighters, He KTFOd former champions unlike Wilder who went 12 first time he fought a top10 fighter. Other than that, yeah. Not much difference.

Golovkin had faced TWO high caliber fighters in Geale and Murray. Both were still top level, and did not suffer back to back KO losses like Wilders opponents  Geale was a former unified champ, Murray could have been a middleweight champ had he not been robbed against Martinez. The only top level fighters Wilder has faced was Stivern, the rest were washed up has beens or one hit wonders like Liakhovich, who has a glass mandible only rivaling Wilders :yep

Aside from that, Golovkin has dismantled the top 10 in the Middleweight division at the time that they fought GGG, with the exception of Andy "The fighting Gypsy from Ireland" Lee, Peter "the chocolate phenom" Quillin, and David "The Romanian masquerading as a Canadian" Lemieux. Wilder has been fighting opposition outside the top rankings his WHOLE career with the exception of Stivern. Skill wise Golovkin is ten times better, has a superior amateur record, and can box beautifully, Wilder does not. You would have to be biased to look at Wilder and see that his boxing is a style of beauty :nut

    :hey

Golovkin systematically dismantles top 10 opposition with amazing beauty, Wilder struggles with decent opponents. But hey if it makes you feel better think what you want :-(

Deontay started boxing in his early 20's, how could you expect any sort of amateur pedigree from him?

The fact that he's able to be a champion now just speaks big volumes of his capabilities. If he had started as a kid, I can say with great confidence that he'd probably be better than Wlad already.

:rofl Creating false hopes now right? Using "what IF's" are totally meaningless. Wilder probably would have been the SAME had he started earlier, people reach a limit on how good they get, Wilder maybe could have beaten Molina one round earlier had he started boxing at 15 :yep

I could use that same argument you are using with just about ANY boxer, what if Golovkin or Wlad had started boxing MORE earlier? What if Kovalev went pro at age 22? What if Kovalev started boxing at 7 years of age

Many people start boxing at 15-20 years of age, some even start late, but it says nothing about WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN. It is simple fantasy.

There is another difference for you. Wilder was KOd in a handfull of fights unlike GGG who has never been down. I don't hate Wilder, I think people are being harsh on him but your comprasion is ridicioulus.

Those shots would have put down any man :nod, and it's HW boxing. Almost everyone goes down.

Deontay has an extremely sturdy jaw, he took hellacious shots from Stiverne and never went down. He ko'd Arreola in a punch

With head gear against a LHW? No. He took a couple of left hooks which showed his jaw isn't pure glass, but nothing to suggest he as an iron jaw. He has power, pace and height but his chin, technique, combinations are still question marks to me.

That was 9 years ago? Who cares? :think

He took hellacious shots in the pros against a seasoned vet with huge power. He has iron in that mandible.

GGG is much more polished than Wilder. You're blind. It's clear as day as to who has the extensive amateur background, and who doesn't.

There's a big difference you clown. GGG is the consensus best #1 MW, has multiple world titles has beaten multiple top MW'S... Wilder on the other hand is regarded as anything but the consensus best at HW... Is regarded by most educated fans as crude, unproven, and chinny.

Wilder beat Stieverne as an underdog or 50/50 fight.

Has Tripple hgh ever done that?? No, he has not.

Not only that Stieverne out weighed Wilder by 20 something pounds, While gg has to have a catch weight for ward.
