But as we both know this is about "can Marciano carry that weight?"

The answer is "yes, look at Norris!!!"

Without bringing up Norris it's going round in circles because Tua and Tyson just got fatter and fatter.

"They're naturally bigger" etc. Cry the muscle fans.

But Norris dropped the artificial weight didn't he? Then he put it all back on then he took it all off again. He's the key to all this nonsense.

    Truth is training programmes changed.

For whatever reason being bigger and making one's self as big as possible became the way to go in the gyms. Nothing wrong with that.

But don't go pretending any heavyweight is his natural size anymore. Training and dietary practice has put a fighters optimum weight higher for each individual than it used to be.

That's spot on. Some of these guys don't seem to think that weightlifting is a form of magic or something. Tua was a kid growing into his natural frame. A man with Marciano's measurements trying to weightlift himself to dimensions anywhere near Tua's would end up looking like an oversized bodybuilding contestant.

Tua was a chubby 200 lb man who through training became a 230 lb oversized body builder than a sumo wrestler.

Measurements are effected by weight. They are measuring the outside of your body, not your bones.

How does Tyson even get brought up in a thread like this? Look at him--he was bigger than Marciano at 15 (and please don't say it was the two years of weights and food in the Catskills)! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQKI7dM9sGw

Now that the proponents of the original contention of this thread have fled from comparisons to Tyson and Tua (and if they haven't they really should do so and cover their tracks)... and the comparison has gone to world beater Orlin Norris, can we talk about how Norris' spoiler, boxer-based style is nothing like Marciano's attrition, battering style?

    Complete nonsense.

A man with Rocky Marcianos measurements was called Orlin Norris. He matched Tuas weight then he took it off then he put it back on then he took it off again. And Norris was as good at both sizes each time around.

If the question is "can the Rock carry extra weight" the answer is : "yes look at Orlin Norris"

You're either a bit confused or being disingenuous. Didn't say that Marciano couldn't put on the weight; said what someone his size would need to do to get arms, legs, etc. the size of Tua's (the topic of this thread).

The Question was can Rocky carry the weight. The answer is yes, look at Norris. He put it on, took it off, and put it back on again and took it off. proving not only to be as good at both divisions but that there must be a lot of artificial weight on lots of other heavyweights.

In answer Rocky could and should achieve everything that Orlin Norris was able to do. Norris is the one who can prove what is plausible. Tua just got bigger and fatter. David Tuas suit dimensions no doubt changed a lot.

Tyson was supposedly doing heavy weight lifting at 12 years of age. Benching as much as 200 lbs. So yeah, in addition to genetics, weight lifting did help him bulk up early.

And how big was Marciano at age 15?

We know before he was cutting weight for boxing, he weighed over 200 when trying out for pro baseball.

No ,it's a specific question could Marciano add weight to make him comparable in stature to Tua and Tyson and perform as effectively as them with added weight? You and those gaol posts!:patsch
