Those were the handpicked fights. There was absolutely NO reason for a Bradley rematch or the Algieri fight. Period.

Agreed.. I had Margarito in there as well... I was debating Tim Bradley too.. Who had never fought at 147lbs in his pro career before fighting Pacquiao..

At least Margarito, Rios, and Algieri.

But some have broader definitions than I do.

Almost everyone viewed JMM III as a massive cherry pick at the time as well.

Sorry, but no way can I call Mosley or Clottey a cherry pick at all.

So you think Mosley and Clottey deserved fights with Pac?? Coming off losses?

Fake fan. . Bradley absolutely schooled Abregu at 147. He just never moved up because the fights weren't there for him yet. Once they were he moved up.
Clottey was clear top 5 in a heavy division. ..
The only clear cherry was Jmm which obviously went wrong.
How would Rios be a cherry after being ktfo?
After any ko,especially one where you're out cold, then fight a big puncher. Gtfo here

Difficult to call some of them cherries. I got Rios and Algieri for sure. Margarito, considering the circumstances. Oh and Mosley.

No, not the #1 most ideal opponents for Pac at the time.

    But they weren't "cherry picks."

Rod Salka was a cherry pick for Danny Garcia. Classic example of my definition for the term.

Mosley and Clottey at the time were not. And weren't all that close.

It all depends on your definition of "cherry pick" and staying consistent with it.

    Brandon Rios?

Rios who had never once fought at WW in his professional career?

Rios who had clearly lost his previous fight to Mike Alvarado at 140, a division he left WW for with a record of 1-1?

Rios who had clearly lost every single round (or all but one or two) to Abril in his last fight at 135 only two fights before then?

In his previous 3 fights before the Pacquiao fight, Rios had only won 7 or so of the 30-ish rounds.

And once again, 1-1 at JWW and 0-0 at WW.

    C'mon now...

Are you really that thick. . Pac got iced in his last fight, ****ing out cold. . Then fought a big puncher. I don't care what anyone thinks of Rios but he's world class, and after that kind of loss he was a real test to see if Pac still belonged in the ring. .
Yall know timing is everything. . It's not always who you fight its when you fought them..

And yet a guy like JMM blatantly ducked Rios, citing that Rios brought NOTHING to the table, and then fought Alvarado.

What does that have to do with anything?

Alvarado had convincingly beaten Rios when they last met at the time Marquez chose to fight Alvarado... So I would say, at the time, JMM chose the more deserving opponent. Do you not agree?

You can't duck one guy to fight a higher ranked guy who had just beaten that same guy you are claiming they ducked. That's nonsensical.

More than Mayweather, let's leave it at that and I consider both floyd and manny more or less equal on the ATG scale regardless of what transpired in May. But the rabid Pacquiao ''fans'' don't really do much logic neither do the clowning Money brigade either, so let's leave them out of this discussion. Manny has had more cherrypicks than Mayweather yet all I see are whinging Pacquiao fans making endless threads, I'm sure it'd be the other way round if Pacquiao won.
