I am not talking about the heart to step in that ring. That takes guts. I am talking about his lack of professional dedication to the sport.

Disgrace is a little too harsh.

    Disappointment is more appropriate.

    Why is he a disgrace?
Anyone that puts on a pair of gloves and gets punched in the head especially by HW's deserves respect.

A disgrace doesn't take the punishment he was taking against someone like Vitali and keep going till he was forced to stop. The real disgrace is a keyboard loser like you, and you will be buried an unheard of disgrace.

I'm a big critic of Arreola have always thought he was over rated and never top 20 material but to call him a disgrace is too far.

It's not like he has squandered his talents because he was never than talented anyway, he's not another Bowe who had the ability to compete at the highest level but threw it away due to lack of self discipline. He's a domestic level heavy who got over hyped and because the WBC liked him and his popularity got 2 title shots.

Even if he was in shape would it mean he suddenly could move his head, be less predictable, be less easy to hit or be able to box off the back foot? No of course not his weight issues do not hide his lack of skills.

But fighters like him are embarrassing to the sport as a whole. The fact someone as lazy as him could earn not 1 but 2 shots and actually spoken about as a possible title holder doesn't make the sport look great. I mean if someone in Arreola's shape got into the Wimbledon final or was lining up at the 100m sprint Olympic final people would question the quality of the people participating in the sport and with boxing it's the same.

He isn't a disgrace. His shape should have been better, but his fights are much more enjoyable than 95% of all the boxing matches.

I totally agree with this. You have got to respect him. Everyone thought he was a future HW champ, but he could not live up to the expectations.
He's out of shape but has given us a couple of fun matches. He isn't the most skilled HW, but fights with his heart.

    Everyone :blood

That's an exaggeration. Only fan boys and those wrapped up in the hype ever thought he could win a title let alone be the heavyweight champ.

He was fun to watch, hit hard and had a good chin as well as heart but he never had the skills or discipline to win a title. He couldn't even beat Stiverne who was his best chance, a guy who had been stopped before, who is also often out of shape and sits in the pocket and even then Arreola couldn't beat him. Every time Arreola stepped up he lost, he never beat a top 20 heavyweight.

if you take into account the number of chances he's been given by Suleiman and the WBC, then yes, he's been a disappointment

No mate, Arreola is no disgrace. He has underachieved but that doesn't make him a disgrace.

Hes been holding up the division. He seems to always be 1 or 2 fights away from a belt yet nobody has honestly believed he ever had a chance since vitali made him cry.
