This is true. Ali was impressed by Rockys power and stated he was better than Frazier.

Fighters like Dempsey, Frazier and Marciano would always give Ali fits. All powerful swarmers who were as tough as the come.

He was also quoted as saying he would have beaten Marciano.

Do you deliberately forget that part, or is it just a slip of the memory?

Ffs, it is not a question of who he coulda, woulda, shoulda fought. It is a matter of who he ACTUALLY fought, at world title level. The record books are undeniable.

Marciano was great leave the man be. It's been months on here now of posters trying to tear him down. Head to head is all conjecture anyway. The man accomplished an awful lot in his time. He fought the best available, stayed in shape, showed sportsmanship. He's a great.

It is undeniable that the man was great IN HIS ERA. The problems occur when frankly idiots claim that due to that greatness, at that time, it can be transposed from then up until now, and all points in between.

All ATG fighters would be formidable in any era. These were all world class athletes with the inherit characteristics of ATG fighters. These abilities which are bestowed upon few fighters, would allow them to stand out no matter the time period.

Not in my book.. Remember in Batman when Liam Neeson told Christian Bale
"Training and skill mean nothing "Will is Everything" Well nobody had more
"will then Rocky That's why he trained so hard so he could match his will
and relentless desire to win..The ability to keep coming on no matter what you threw at him..
How many guys you know could manage to put a truly great fighter like
Ezzard on ice in the few minutes he had cause he's gushing enough blood
to paint the town red How can you overate anyone whose career can be summed up
with the statement "Will is Everything"

Great Will to win is a must have to be considered an ATG fighter. Rocky had this characteristic is spades.

So did Joe Frazier, but it didn't do him much good against Foreman.

The problem with the Marciano worshippers is, in their eyes, basic physics do not apply to him.

Send him in the ring and let him get caught by a couple of Foremans wallops or a Tyson for that matter and see how it pans out.

Well of course styles make fights Rocky would lose to Foreman just like Tyson would lose
    to Foreman ..Your not
gonna beat Foreman by swarming him..You gotta box him Don't let him get set to nail you.
Tyson and Rocky can only go forward ..They would get flattened yet i see the fight being
stopped with Rocky still getting up.. just knocked down to many times.. With Tyson
i could see Foreman knocking him out of time

What difference does that make? He still took part in a fraud a con of the public who paid to watch him box an opponent ,not his brother who stood in for him using his name.

We don't know if Dempsey took part in a fixed fight. We are certain that Marciano took part in a boxing match in which he boxed his brother whom the public thought was some one else.We know this because Marciano got a months ban for it.
I'm only rebutting Wass's comment here ,and I think I have done so.

I think Tyson would be more dangerous for Foreman , because he is physically bigger and. most of all a lot faster than Rocky,if he gets a couple of those combos in on anyone, he has the capability of putting them on q*eer street. Having said that I would still go for Big George.

    WTF you can't say Q*EER?
