It is still a better fight than if he faced the glass jawed bum Amir Khan, Mayweather's tactics with Khan have been simply awesome, the bum will never get a payday with Floyd because it would be a mismatch, who wants to pay money to watch Floyd blow away that bum in 30 seconds.
A fight this bad really almost justifies his critics comments about his resume. This is so unapologetically bad. He wants to settle a personal petty beef with Berto and literally no one else gives a sh*t. Oh, but he has "earned" it. Lol

Don't really have a problem with it. He's been at the top of the sport for so long that he's earned the right to have a farewell fight. I'm more than happy to watch him exhibit his skills one more time against a hand-picked opponent provided it isn't on PPV.

If he fought frequently it would be less jarring. Plus he's set the standards fairly high and this fight rightfully feels like such a drastic step down in class that it will elicit a number of eye rolls. More than that, Floyd hasn't shown the kind of slippage that would require/justify this soft of a touch. If it was a farewell fight after a steep decline more people would probably feel better about it.
Floyd has defeated all his challengers and contemporaries, there is no need for him to ever fight again so be happy you get to see him one more time in September
The fact that "boxing fans" like yourself are okay with "the greatest fighter of this era" picking overmatched opponents, continually, makes me sad for the sport. This isn't just Berto, although this is by far the worst of the picks. This goes to Guerrero, Maidana (don't forget this fight was a joke up until Maidana made it interesting) and now Berto. If you're the best, you should fight the best. Plain and simple. Especially given the fact that no one is avoiding Floyd... He can literally have any single fight out there. When your own father makes a comment about picking easy fights, that should say something to Floyd's hard core fans.
