I saw a few black and white clips of him on youtube and he looks a superb heavyweight.

He'd be competitive. might need to gain 10 or 15 lbs of muscle to bang with some of the big boys. Either that drop five lbs or so to dominate the cruiserweight class but he'd be a force either way.

He'd struggle against some of the guys who can move, but he'd have a puncher's chance against damn near anyone.

    So nobody thinks that either...

    A) Advances in size & strength & things would have him at best a contender or worse.

    B) Nobody believes that as he was he would be nearly as dominant or as dominant as he was, champion & undefeated for many years?

He would do well. Might have a couple more losses but would spend considerable time at the top.

A lot of these oversized HW's would be cannon fodder for Louis. Joe was very strong and could handle the bigger boys. Just ask Carnera whom Louis spun off his feet a few times during their fight. Primo may not have been the best boxer in the world but he was a 260lb musclehead who was very strong himself and was surprised that Joe could manhandle him in the clinches. Combine that with Louis' power and hand speed and I think he would do just fine in the modern era. Too much is made of overall size today. It's certainly a factor but not the end all/be all in HW boxing. People actually think that Ali would be too small to compete in today's HW scene! Are you kidding me?

he dominates, only Ali would present him with a different look but I think Louis prevails and he was better at rematches than Ali and Holmes (who never gave them...he takes out Lennox and Vlad...he has some rough spots and may hit the canvas but the Brown Bomber prevails

There was no proper vitamins or medicine or advanced training techniques in the days he was fighting, it was just pure skill. I think he'd be phenomenal in the modern age.

He wouldn't be able to touch those guys, literally. What makes you to sure he would dominate larger men (with ko power) who know how to move their feet and work from the outside?

Why do you dislike Louis so much? "Louis was ranked as the #1 heavyweight of all-time by the International Boxing Research Organization, and was ranked #1 on The Ring's list of the 100 Greatest Punchers of All-Time."

    From wikipedia.

    This simply isn't true.

It has been argued by nutritionalists that food was, in fact, more nutritious in the past and that vitamins are a waste of money. As for training techniques, those come and go and what was once old is new again, which one would notice with all the focus on functional strength lately.

Today only Wlad would be a concern. Hand on heart, there is nobody else out there that stands a hope in hell of beating Louis. Smaller or not.
    I mean who...Jennings, Wilder, Fury??
