    No.

the only way that Wlad could surpass Lewis is to have more defenses than Joe Louis.

Lewis has the W over 3 HOF HWs on his resume.

How many HOF HWs has Wlad beaten?

Exactly. Just like Chris Byrd who has beaten two hof'ers in Holyfield and Vitali (he will get in) Wladimir can never rank ahead of Chris Byrd.

If Lennox had fought Byrd it would be like the Byrd-Ibeabuchi fight Byrd nearly getting decapitated. Wlad BLATANTLY ducked Lennox after Lennox Ko'd Vitali. Wlad wanted no part of Lennox The Lion:good

Lennox kicked Vitali's a$$ when overweight & undertrained on only a few days notice. What was the point in a rematch?? A 100% Lennox would destroy Vitali & Wlad same night

Exactly right Lennox was having a keep busy warm up with Kirk
Everyone knew Kirks heart wasn't in boxing any more after he was DQ'd by Joe Cortez against an Oscar worthy John Ruiz. Another Cortez corrupt classic performance.
What other champion has ever put up his title against his#1 contender on a few day notice & not 100% fit??? NO ONE
    Lennox had barely trained
There was no point in a rematch after Lennox TKO-6 Vitali
At least Kirk got another paycheck against Vitali. You could see Kirk was there just for the paycheck He didn't try to win

Wow, three posts in a row that really make it seem like you just looked up fights on boxrec and didn't watch them or understand the context. Wlad never ducked LL. He was out of contention after the LLVK fight, Wlad was nowhere on anyones agenda. And the LLVK fight was one of the best HW fights in history. Even LL has admitted that if he fought again, he owed Vitali the next fight. A rematch could have gone either way, there's plenty of good arguments on both sides. And stop with the "prime" stuff, LL had all the championship experience, Manny said that in his corner during the fight, and it showed through in the fight. Vitali was closer to physical prime, but I'll take experience prime any day of the week. The fantasy fight I'd have loved is the Lennox who beat Tyson from the year before, against the Vitali who beat Arreola 5 years later. I'd argue those were the best versions of the two fighters.

And Lennox didn't like fighting lefties, he never did it. I think LL would have beat Byrd, but done so unimpressively. I don't think he really ducked him so much as didn't want to have an ugly, unsatisfying match be one of or the last fight of his career.

Lineal title will never be broken, because it was a different era. By that logic though, Louis can't compare to Wlad because he was never able to obtain 5 different belts. It cuts both ways. If Wlad breaks the record, its legit to footnote that Wlad didn't truly become lineal until he collected all the belts, but also that he is the first champ to ever collect all the belts when there are so many. It evens out in my opinion.

Sorry my foolish friends. But Tyson Fury is the best fighter that Wladimir will have ever fought in his life. Fury is like a combination of Vitali Klitschko on the outside slash Rid**** Bowe on the inside. Tyson Fury is the Heavyweight of the future.

Could somone make a Fury HL reel using this dispaying how Fury is a more advanced and upgraded model of Heavyweight. Sorta futuristic

I don't think so. The best fighter Lewis ever beat was a well past it Evander Holyfield.
Lewis should have gotten his hands raised in their first fight, but even so he fought a timid fight against a Holyfield that was well off on the night.
A sound case can be made that Holyfield won the rematch but Lewis given the decision by the judges to make up for the first fight injustice.
In either case, I didn't think Lewis looked very good in either fight.

Lewis next best opponent was against Vitali Klitchko, and I haven't a shred a doubt in my mind that had the fight continued, Lewis would have been stopped that night.
That fight was a seesaw battle, but Vitali's moments overall in the fight were lasting over a minute, while Lewis moments were lasting a few seconds and he was fizzling and not able to prolong the moments.
Vitali was the much better conditioned fighter on the night and that would have made all the difference in the world had the fight not been stopped due to cuts.
Lennox Lewis of course knows this, which is why he was wise to retire even with huge money to be made for a rematch with Vitali Klitchko.

    Just the facts gentleman! :deal

If you consider only longevity, Wlad ranks much higher than Lewis. He at least doubles Lewis' title defenses and years at the top. Besides, lets remember that Lennox' best unbeaten streak was between in 1996 and 2001. 5 years. Wlad has been able to remain undefeated for ELEVEN YEARS. Wlad > Lewis.

Regarding opposition, Lewis beat better rivals (Ruddock, Mercer, Morrison, Golota, old Holyfield, old Tyson, Tua, Vitali) than Wlad (Byrd, Peter, Chagaev, Povetkin, Pulev, Haye, Ibragimov). Lewis > Wlad.

Both lost against undeserving challengers, they are even in that department. Lewis has fewer loses because he had 20 fights less than Wlad. Even.

I would say they are pretty even. #3 and #4 of all time IMO. Holmes is already out of the way because his reign was a joke and he didn't unify.
