To me Billy's proven he's a fluke and his achievements with Ricky were the direct result of some incredibly selective match-making, so why would I be jealous? I'd love to be a boxer, not some glorified fat man who holds a bag and thinks he's a world class trainer when in reality he has to work two jobs just to make ends meet. ricky was always going to reach a very good level and anyone who watched him throughout his amateur career would tell you that. billy helped him get there and his work with peter harrison proved invaluable but imo it was more to do with rickys talent, the state of the divisions at the time when ricky was champion and also the top class management from w arren to get ricky the defences he did at the time he did, we all seen what happened when he swapped over to matchroom!! i like billy even though he can be annoying and arrogant at times and i think more people would take to him if he wasnt as arrogant or chat as much s hit but that is who he is and if he never trains another world champion then at least he will have had the pleasure of doing so!! it will be interesting to see if he can win titles with a fighter that he has had from the start, david brophy, ross henderson, lewis ritson have all started their pro careers with billy and it will be interesting to see how their careers go with him and what levels they reach under him.
Tbfair boxing crazy i dont think any of us would of thought burns was going to win world titles. Ye its true burns was a decent boxer but i wouldnt of put him above british level and then that would of depended on who was in the mix at the same time. Carl easily bet him and he never won anything past british level as he was also easily beaten at euro level. I do think it was a bit of both but billy certainly played a massive part.

As for Burns, he didn't fight a single world class fighter in 10 world title fights, so it's not a case of one or the other. He was a fringe world level fighter who benefited from ridiculously easy defences. Second he fought at world level he was badly exposed.
