Yes, he has knocked out guys who he was suppose to but what is his biggest win on his resume? Has he even fought anyone in the Top 5 or even Top 10? I'm sorry but I see him as a more powerful, shorter version of Paul Williams. Until he fights a live body, he's just a up and coming guy that's knocking out B and C level fighters.
He's fought some solid opposition, he has a deep amateur background, and he certainly passes the eye test. I think he's a very talented fighter and not many fighters seem too keen on getting in the ring with him. I think he and his team have done a good job of building up his name.
What did Mike Tyson do to become the most feared man in boxing before he beat Berbick? Sometimes its not always who you beat but how you beat them and the potential you show while doing it.
Him and Rigo are the most feared, I'm leaning towards Rigondeaux because he has nobody significant willing to face him in his division whereas Golovkin can get some good fighters still.
I think kovalev carries more of a fearsome aura about him than ggg beacuse of the opposition he's wiped out,
Agreed. That and the fact that none of the guys who have been in there with him have even been able to be competitive.
Even Kovalev said Golovkin is the harder puncher and that he wouldn't want to fight him. "If GGG came up to my weight class, I'd have to leave it."
He's being sarcastic. GGG hits nowhere near as hard as Sergey. Kovalev is 6'0" and rehydrates to about 190 pounds. He's huge.
look at the state of his opponents faces for one. Also, how many wins does he have by Quittage? It is several. What other fighter can say that?
