Prime Ali couldn't take the punch 70's Ali could but he had the speed

Answer this If Ali when Cooper knocked him down with his best left hook was caugtht with Tyson's best left hook would outcome be different

There's no evidence to suggest a 70's Ali would take the shot from Cooper differently than he actually did in the 60's. Boxing is a funny old game isn't it.

It's a fight for three rounds. Then Tyson realizes he has no answer to what Ali is bringing to the table. He implodes. Slow beat down leading to a 10th round TKO.

Ali had way to much heart for Mike, and was a lot smarter too like the previous poster said, Ali all wrong for Mikey:hi:

    Ali late KO..

We should just take turns making this thread. Tillis troubled Tyson with movement when he was still green. Mike beat plenty of boxers though. Ali could be slammed with a great left hook, but christ 40-0 monster in Foreman couldnt KO ali. ALI SD 12, ALI TKO 15. Mike doesn't lose any fans in this one. Ali's toughness and unshakeable will win him this. THis is NOT a rout for either fighter imo. ALI SD 12, ALI TKO 15

Two of my favourites, but Ali wins. He is to fast, to hard to hit and constantly on the move. Worst oponent for Tyson ever.

I have to favor Ali. Too much movement, enough stamina to put forth the necessary work rate and the chin to take Tyson's punches. Of course Muhammad would still have to put forth one of the best performances of his career to do it. Not sure that I like 70's Ali vs Tyson as much as the late 60's version.

Ali at his best beats Tyson at his best. Mike is quick but Ali is quicker. Mike has power but Ali has one of the greatest chins ever. Ali would jab, score from the outside, lots of side to side movement, neutralise the pressure, tie him up when he got inside. After a while Mike would get anxious and be throwing one punch at a time - then he'd beak down mentally. Ali is at his strongest mentally and a master at playing mind games with his opponent. Ali would just have too much magic for Tyson and would probably win by decision.

I picked Ali on points, too. I think Ali's self belief and will to win would be too much for Mike. I think Ali would have to survive some rough moments, though; prime Tyson was a cracking fighter. Shame his prime only lasted 3 years!

Yet Frazier had superior stamina and mental strength. I never saw Tyson improve during a fight - Frazier did. Tyson would give any heavyweight in history problems for about 5 rounds not for the whole fight.
