I favor Lennox, but there's a vulnerability to the straight right that would prevent me from ever betting on this one.

Against left hook artists, give me Lennox all day. His track record there doesn't lie. I strongly believe it takes a straight right to do the job on him, and those that have one would be the punchers who'd be live underdogs.

If mediocrities McCall and Rahman could get Lewis out of there early, Big George would do it even earlier.

    Foreman KO 1

That had more to do with exhaustion and the 100 degree Zaire heat than Ali's punches.

People make to much out of that fight in my opinion. Foreman was mentally a shell of himself by then. Pre-Ali Foreman would have gone through Young in a couple of rounds. Even as it was he almost and should have had him out of there in the seventh. Even most of the great ones throughout history have a fight they had no business losing. Lewis to Rahman, Tyson to Douglas, Klitschko to Brewster. Foreman's was Jimmy Young imho.

Lewis easily outboxes Foreman and stops him in 8-9 rounds. Foreman isnt big compared to Lewis and he has little boxing skills. Foreman could overpower CWs of the 70s, but would be overmatched against anyone who can box a bit.

It doesn't matter who you pick but wouldn't this be a great fight.

Yep, Lewis was an excellent boxer and would have out boxed Foreman for numerous rounds building up a good lead but would more than likely have gotten stopped during the middle rounds, similiar situation to that of Moorer. It pains me to say that as i thought Lewis was arguably the best of his generation but his chin was his achillies heel...

Lewis didn't have the chin to withstand those first 7 rounds

Foreman nails him sooner or later/game over. Foreman had a much better chin than Lennox and that would've been the deciding factor.

'would' and 'could' aren't the same... Sure, Foreman COULD definitely blast Lewis out of there early. No question about it. But WOULD he? It's the kind of fight where several different scenarios are plausible. Lewis getting bombed out wouldn't be a shocker, but Lewis taking a decision wouldn't be a shock either.

Foreman was a monster compared to the CWs and LHWs he fought in the 70s. A modern day SHW like Lewis would have decapitated him.
