Oscar De La Hoya: When you talk about getting bang for your buck it doesn't get any better than this," De La Hoya said. "When you think about the pay-per-view numbers we're being real here. This is not a million-selling pay-per-view. We're thinking along the lines of between 350,000 and 500,000 buys. You have to start somewhere, and this is a perfect fight for both guys to start off on pay-per-view. Obviously, we are going to stack the card like there's no tomorrow. We want to give the fans bang for their buck. -From Dan Rafael; ESPN So, a four fight telecast with focus on a stacked undercard including Gonzalez and Heavyweight Luis Ortiz. It's reported it'll be under 60$ as well. How many buys does this fight do?
i hope its one of those 30 dollar ppvs let see who else is fighting on the card, hope its chocolatito
If they're saying "under $60" it ain't gonna be $30. More like $59.99 with $10 added on for HD. :smoke
If my memory isn't failing me, Martinez vs Cotto generated 300k buys. I don't see how GGG vs Lemieux can beat that. Anything upwards of 300k will be a huge success. It will open doors to mega fights for GGG.
Going to be ugly negotiations for Ward - GGG if he generates anywhere near as many PPV sells as Ward did free viewers.
