PBC On NBCSN: Beibut Shumenov Vs. BJ Flores-Jordan Shimmell Vs. Isiah Thomas RBR

Can they stop pretending that BJ is some kind of super strong puncher.. I mean, he might be able to hurt Shum.. cause he's considerably bigger.. but BJ is NOT a harder puncher at all..

 

There was no way this fight was going to be an all-out war... Shumenov wouldn't fight like that, and certainly not at this weight.

 

so average. No gumpshun, he seems content coasting, just following Shuminov throwing the same 1-2 with horrible accuracy. Dull fight

 

BJ pops like a mule. He was my gym for this camp. No joke, he hits hard as hell. He was sparring my fighter.

 

Why Shumenov never box off the back foot like this before?

He won't make any fans from the masses on ESB for doing it but wow I'm impressed.

 

I'm not at all impressed, he looks impressive because he's fighting a stiff idiot. Put him in against the big boys, he's getting dropped.

Shumenov is usually in all out wars. Or tries to make them a war.

 

Almost any pro boxer worth a **** pops in the gym.. Flores doesn't pop in the pros though.

 

He's always been a good boxer, it just doesn't sell tickets. Again, really solid am career. Shumenov is no joke. Not a world beater, but a solid, solid competitor.

 

True. But BJ, despite being bigger, is too reluctant to get into a firefight for some reason. It's almost like he's being a passive-aggressive fighter, much like my Mrs. Except my Mrs. is much more adept at walking her opponent(me)into big shots.

 

Well, yeah, you can be impressed without thinking he's a top 5 fighter in the division.
