Pascal was landing at a slightly higher margin in some of the close rounds. It was close I'm not disputing that but I thought Pascal barely nicked a few more than Gonzalez. It was a hard match to score.
You gave to pascal rounds that he clearly didnt deserve. I'm not bothered enough to look for them and rewatch the fight, but i remember thinking "wtf did he watch". There's no way in hell pascal won that fight. It was a robbery, plain and simple.
Had Gonzalez ahead by a round going into the 9th and imo he won those last 2 rds. Even if you have it 4-4 going into the last 2, Gonzo still takes it.
Pascal did not win that fight, period. He was out worked. But the decision came as no surprise to me.
I put the terrible first round out of my head and didn't let it effect my judgment as much as many of you did, Pascal won the second and the third they were both razor close though.
I'm not going to rewatch the fight. But no, it's not possible to give pascal 6 rounds without being drunk or high. It's late, anyway, going to sleep. See you all tomorrow :good
No, he didn't. He didn't do much of anything until the 5th or 6th. He was eating RHs like crazy in the early going. Got outworked and battered early. A case could be made that he leveled things later, but you really have to give him EVERY conceivable close round to have him winning. There was no way he won, snd quite frankly, a draw was generous to him. Gonzalez could have won that by as much as 97-93 if you were being generous.
Pascal should've received a deduction for excessive clinching. There were some rounds he clinched more times than he landed punches.
For the record to clarify why I judged the match for Pascal....Yunieski's countless clubbing shots between the shoulder blades and to the back of Pascal's neck aren't scoring shots.:deal
