Before the fights: Ward's going down.

    After the fights: Excuses.

Ward doesn't have half the skills necessary to deal with a monster like Kovalev.Compared with him,he's completely useless.

Abraham was not even the best middleweight in his weight class, he moved up and found little success in comparison to his 160 run. People favored Ward over him, and Froch is not a technical boxer, just a brawler with a good heart. These guys were tailor made for Ward.

    qft?

IMO, slick boxers do not deal with guys who are good straight punchers. Kovalev is not only good at it, his are hella powerful and he has a reach advantage.

    Ward has little chance IMO.

When did Kessler become this great boxer anyway? Before Ward faced him, he was considered a Euro bum in a weak era, after Ward beat him people raised Kessler to a god like status

Froch was considered a brawler with little technical skill, another bum, after Ward beat him he became this great boxing genius :rofl

Ward has #1 upper body movement in boxing, but those long jabs to the body by Kovalev just take it out of people. Not to mention the straight shots.

Wonder if Ward can keep his head moving so well after a few rounds of feeling Kovalevs body work. Honestly I kinda doubt it.

If Ward has any chance to win, he needs to perfect. One punch from Kovalev would make him throw every plan out the window.

Kovalev is the most devastating puncher in the sport and he has the means to deliver straight bombs from both hands. I don't I've seen a modern fighter done so much damage to his opponents in all my years of watching boxing.

Broken faces, ribs and well, you know the rest.

Ward's game plan will be to smother Kovalev. He will bend down low and come in rushing with his head.
I hope Sergey has something for that and he does us a favor of knocking out Ward :D.

Ward will control the range and dictate the pace. Kovalev will have to work hard to find his shots. I see Ward outsmarting him and avoiding being hit clean.

Kovalev would knock SOB Ward out....................HBO is trying to make that fight for next year, but Ward wants all the money, his ring, his hometown, his personal referee, judges, boxing commission......................I can't see Ward fighting Kovalev, hell, he refused to even answer Stevenson....................Kovalev hits much harder than anyone Ward has ever fought, knows how to box, Ward has no power, I don't think he will take the fight................

Ward's skill level is way above Kovalev's basic 1-2 style.
