It was looking like they might fight, too, until Papke derailed it. Imagine that, Ketchel the HW champ of the world? I wonder if he would have fought Johnson?

Johnson said Burns was better than Ketchel.

Then there is the issue of what weight you are comparing them at.

Ketchel's main body of work was at middleweight and light heavyweight, while Burns's main body of work was at light heavyweight and heavyweight.

I would have liked to have seen them fight. My hunch is Burns would have won.

Then why did ketchell knock out men burns lost too or struggle with?

Common opposition states otherwise. Burns either lost or struggled with jack o brion Hugo Kelly and twin Sullivan, going the distance with all these men. Ketchell knocked all of these men out..

Yet ketchell knocked out multiple men who burns lost to or badly struggled with

Burns opposition at heavyweight was **** poor

Burns fought two draws with Hugo Kelly. Kelly seems to have been lucky to get the second one but had a shade of the first one. Meanwhile Ketchel obliterated Kelly.

The only time they were touted to fight that i'm aware of though was when Burns moved out of the MW division and up to HW. I agree that's a little different. I think a lot depends upon how you feel about the Papke loss and if that made Ketchel better, more considered. If you don't, I think Ketchel is favourite. If you do, I think Burns might be favoured.

Is there any doubt who was the greater puncher? Even Jack Johnson laughed at burns punches, while one ketchell right hand out Johnson on his ass. Ketchell was an all time puncher

Johnson still hasn't fully recovered from that right hand ketchell nailed him with. By the way what did Johnson think of burns right hand? I believe Johnson laughed at burns the whole fight. Johnson laughed at ketchell and ended up on his ass.
