Bowe had a short prime because he was not dedicated. Had a low ring IQ, and porous defense. Would of been even shorter had he ended fighting more of the good 90's contenders than he did. The Holyfield trilogy took a toll on him. He opted to trade and became worn out partially because of it.
Bowe's simply not fast enough imho. Vitali was notoriously hard to land clean on, and fought well as a counterpuncher. He's all wrong for Bowe. It would be a long, painful beatdown. Bowe's best chance would be to try engage him in a slugfest and hope that his big power carries the day. Hope that Vitali loses his head and tries a Lennox type brawl instead of Plan Briggs. Then again, we are talking about a HW in Vitali with an ATG chin. Bad, bad matchup for Bowe.
I disagree. Prime Bowe when he was training and in shape was an excellent fighter. He hit like a mule and had a much better inside game than Vitali. I can see Bowes jab giving Vitali enough trouble in terms of disrupting his offence that it allows Bowe to establish himself inside. Bowes uppercut could do hellacious damage to Vitali as did Lewis uppercut.
The prime Bowe was better than the fat 37 years old Lewis or the fat featherfisted Byrd (who was **** against a faded Golota but he could beat klitschko) obviously Bowe was better than v. klitschko.
Vitali is made of sterner stuff than Bowe, And this fight would resemble Golota vs Bowe. Vitali wont mentally lose it, and gets stronger as the fight goes on, he also does not lose rounds. I think Vitali wins after Bowes corner throws in the towel, around the 10th round.
because he does not lose rounds?? presumably he beats Godzilla then... because he does not lose rounds.. so dumb.
He does not lose rounds because he is the aggressor, and has a high workrate. He would out hustle Bowe. No question. And Bowe is not Godzilla.
Bowe's prime wasn't much longer than a viagra pill, and even in it, Tony Tubbs nearly out boxed him. His manager Rock Newman steered Bowe away from punchers. He knew.
Perhaps you should read the sentence again in full. Not cherry pick what you want. "Vitali wont mentally lose it, and gets stronger as the fight goes on, he also does not lose rounds." That is the quote. And remember, the thread and my post were about Bowe Vs Vitali. English man... do you speak it?
Read the sentence.... Are you unable to READ? Context..... You should try it sometimes. STOP taking a part of a sentence and then trying to make it something it is not. You have a career in the news media, you can make up a story ,and make it fit your agenda with snippets or commentary taken out of context.
Hilarious. People saying Vitali "out toughs" Bowe. When did Vitali out tough anyone? Dude quit twice when the going got tough. Bowe showed nuts and guts at every turn. Bowe TKO 7
