This has nothing to do with Jones his win against Toney was excellent. Toney fought a lot of bums in his career. Got gift decisions in every single weight class he fought in. He is a two time convicted steroid cheat. He never unified. He is a HOFer (depending on whether you think PED cheats should be inducted) but the notion that he is an ATG is funny to me. There is a difference between a HOF fighter and an ATG.
I don't dispute that which is why Cotto needs to either drop his belt or fight GGG and quit with the payouts and excuses. You have a guy that wants to unify vs a guy that literally is trying to create a 155 pound weight class as if 18 weight divisions isn't enough. It is a ****ing joke. :rofl
You are bashing Toney's nickname because you don't want to believe Roy beat a fighter with power.. Toney had one punch KO power at the lighter weights and carried it up and hurt fighters at CW and HW. Also, I remember reading Toney didn't have a huge amateur back round which explains some of the early bums he fought.
Toney had *some* power at Middleweight. That was it. He and Jones fought at Super Middleweight. James Toney was in no way, shape, or form a power puncher. Ever. If I wanted to slight Jones don't you think I would just come out and say it? Jones has enough things to criticize I don't need to try and 'hide' them. His Chin alone is something that can be talked about for days. The guy didn't like getting hit in the face and wanted an easy path to trinket belts. It is what it is. But I am not going to say that his win over Toney was worthless.
How do you explain Toney hurting HW's? You hate him so much that you slight him by slighting other fighters that he beat. You have been talking about his chin for years. Not too many people do... Moving up and beating Toney was in no way an easy path to a trinket belt.. Toney was thought of as one of the best fighters alive, and there was a big question mark as if Jones could handle Toney's power, and he did.
