Feel free to show where exactly Lewis makes contact with the referee.

he moves into the ref for half second whilst the ref is actually moving in towards him at the same time, and rights himself straight after that half second. it literally is a split second.

hhis legs were not 100% - clearly he got up too early. it was a little early to stop it, lewis was clearly ready to go on after a count. lewis was likely smart enough to survive really.

Lewis hit the canvas 10 seconds before his "half second" stumble into the ref. This is not how you beat a count.

When a referee says "9" and you stumble into his chest, this is what happens.

I was referring to how he got up too early, when I said

in other words, he shouldn't have jumped up so fast.

again the ref is very much moving towards lewis when lewis moves into him, if anyone moves towards you when you've just got up and are walking toward them, chances are you are going to lean into them momentarily. again lewis clearly wasn't 100%.

that's all it was - momentary, but not 100% recovered. its a tough call both ways.

you mean getting knocked out of the ring by Firpo?

What about the 185lb men who wobbled floored or knocked Dempsey out???

Marciano was never knocked out by a 37 year old journeyman in one round. Never. Dempsey was. Just accept this is a huge blemish against his durability, and Marciano doesn't have this blemish on his record

Or Dempsey being floored 9 times by a tomato can? What tomato can ever floored Marciano?

I find it funny Ben you coming to dempseys defense and not once coming to Marcianos defense lately despite being a huge Marciano fan

You can't pump up Rocky and diss Dempsey. Dempsey was a more highly skilled hwt than Marciano. Both ATG fighters who would give anyone hell.

If roles were reversed and Lewis had won the fight against McCall in that manner, it would have been long forgotten.

People say "a champion deserves every chance", and that may be so, but it's quite old school, and akin to the "in a close fight, the title should stay with the champion" allowance, which is largely dismissed (though perhaps it too has merits).

Lewis, at that time, was a "paper champion" who'd won his title in the boardroom anyway, so it was ironic that the WBC were accused of conspiring to rob him.
