Their chins are getting touched by bigger, better athletes. There is a profound difference. Deal wid it.

Not really better athletes. Take the average kid back in Marcinos era, they were doing more athletics on average then kids now days.

They may be bigger but if they trained like Marciano did and if they fought 15 round fights not many would be much over 200 pounds.

Actually being big is hard on the chin because if they dont roll well with the punch or if they move somwhat into a punch its a bigger impact. The bigger they are the harder they fall into punches and not just the ground.

Actually getting knocked around by 230 pound guyd is much more damaging than dealing with 180 guys... at least in my and many others' experiences. It's almost night and day, honestly.

How do you know this? Are you a sports physician? Did you do tests on him back in the 40's and 50's? :hi:

Marcaino was taller than Tua, He also had more skills, and better stamina and work rate.

Tua survived, The Rock surely could as well.

Rocky has a better chance to KO Lewis than Tua as well. Tua was a modern heavyweight right? He did compete and all that ... RIGHT?

Tyson was small compared to Lewis, and Ruddock, and well, Everyone.... He was such a failure... right?

Tua survived because he was deadset on doing so. Are you saying that Marciano also would have b*tched up like that?

Strongly disagree that Marciano had a better chance of knocking Lewis out.

Take Tyson and make him much slower, 25 pounds (another weight class!!) smaller, and shorten his already short reach significantly, and what happens? [A: He becomes a great cruiserweight]

Very superficial. Tua was a hwt challenger. Marciano an all time great hwt champion. Huge difference.

That's right! I keep forgetting about Marciano ' ATG super powers. Please disregard my last comments about his size, reach, and slowness. I'll go back and edit when o get a chance.

Super powers no. ATG capabilities yes. Different class of fighter. One day you may understand.

They were the same height, Tua had more skills and Tua demonstrated the ability to have a higher work rate over 12 rounds against Ibeabuchi than Marciano did against those in his filmed fights. And for the neophytes, I will remind that it's a lot easier to have a high work rate against smaller fighters who can't stifle you with their weight and harder punches than it is against giants who jab really well, really hard, follow it with rights and smother.

Tua was also much larger than Marciano. He was a natural 220 pound guy who carried that weight well. That's a very significant amount of functional body mass he has over the Rock.

Tyson was 25-30 pounds larger than the Rock and had ridiculous speed and balance, things Marciano never demonstrated.

The desperate reaching for ****ogies and common ground here between the heavies from the 50's and the 90's is just sad. There should be some sort of intervention because logic surely hasn't worked.

    Tua was 5' 10"

    Marcaino 5' 11

Marcaino was taller than Tua, and Tua did not carry the weight well either, he was fat.

Tua had more skills? Better stamina? I think not.
