All I want is your prediction. You said Marciano ko'd atg heayweights I merely pointed out they were not in their primes. As I would do if some one said Jack Johnson ko'd Jeffries and Fitzsimmons.
Like I said only Ali Louis Foreman and Douglas knocked out ATG heavyweights in there primes...no on else did. No one Marcianos resume still is one of the better ones in history
Greetings Rib!...tho I would have liked to have seen a smiley face with your comment. Actually this is an interesting matchup. Could Rock get thru the taller Jinx ****nal? Could the Jinx survive the pressure? Both could win IMO but I don't see Spinks stopping the Rock but Rock stopping Spinks wouldn't be out of the question IMHO. And if anyone sees Michael walking right thru Rock, then, I guess I'll just have to go back to my 'eras' mantra. :yep By the way, Eddie Gregory was a better fighter than Michael Spinks. (double smilies)
Gregory certainly had the potential to be so, he never quite lived up to his talent imo. On his best night he would give Kovalev an interesting night, [see his thread].
I would pick the Roy Jones who fought Ruiz, to knock out everyone Marciano knocked out at the times he fought them, and much quicker too.
The jones who was on steroids? Ok except Film doesn't support your opinion. Jones isn't going to potshot Walcott Charles or Moore. Watching 1952 Walcott 1955 Moore 1954 Charles we see Walcott had a tremendous punch, crafty footwork, elite upperbody and head movement, good jab, very physically strong, threw a nasty left hook, sneaky right hand, he was very cagey, had fast hands too . Archie Moore had a thunderous right hand counter punch, was an all time great finisher, elite upper body and head movement, incredible timing, terrific shoulder roll defense, good stamina, a lot of heart, he hooked very well off the jab, he threw nice jab combinations, could box well off the back foot Ezzard Charles was an elite skilled boxer, used great angles, had sharp reflexes, could counterpunch with the best of them, threw a great left hook, had a nice right hand lead and counter, threw a mean left to the body, high ring IQ, fast hands, he had terrific inside fighting ability, nice high guard defense, once you made a mistake he made you pay Tough crowd for jones to sweep, even the jones on steroids
Spinks was scared ****less against Tyson. That would not be the case against Rocky. Interesting match up. I lean towards Spinks on points.
Marciano hit too hard and the pressure he would put on Spinks would be too much. Spinks really did not have much power and the ****ey that he faced was shot and just a very big target, I was there. Spinks could not crack like Walcott, nor was he as strong physically and Charles and Moore were a better fighter. Marciano could get him early or late but it would be a beating,Marciano beat better men his size.
Mismatch. Spinks right hand is doing nothing to this guy. He'd walk through it. And Rocky is forcing a pace the heavyweight version of Spinks does not want to fight at. The lh version didn't want to fight at that pace. ko7 in a 1 sided bout.
Which 6'2" 213lbs men did Marciano beat that were better than Spinks? Names please? Oh and PLEEEEEEEZE don't say the 37years old relic that was called Joe Louisatsch
Spinks was stopped once, by a bigger, faster, harder puncher than Marciano, its not beyond the realms of possibility that Marciano catches him but its probable imo ,that Spinks loses a decision .
