dont entirely agree with this either bud, it is for the fans the public .... who do u think the sponsors are advertising to ... not other boxers not the promoters to those watching the fight be that ringside or on the box
Its a spectator sport ... same as any other sport or entertainment in the world its for the people watching. Less people watching or interested will mean less ££'s
Yes you are right, but what I am trying to say is that a boxer can not live on ticket sales alone it really isnt possible until you get to world level. However, my point that fans have no relevance was not put in the most intelligent way and I am have to rectify and back peddle on that somewhat. What he means is, those fans who dont go to boxing shows dont understand the sweet science etc are not relevant to the game. Of course without the fans boxing would be irrelevant in itself, Froch v Groves 2 is a perfect example of how boxing fans can make an event.
You dont get paid in this sport for how good you are you get paid by how much you are watched. I havent stated at any point how this revenue comes in but the public are the basis for it

Yeah i know exactly what he means when he talks about those people dont really matter to be honest i know the type of people he is referring to and in that stance he is correct. However I still stand by that the public/fans are the most important factor in boxing and determine how much money is involved. Its the very prime reason why he has made more money than the average fighter with his record has ... public interest for whatever reason that is good or bad. And at the end of the day he is happy (in fact he is actively pursuing) a hate character for himself. I just dont think he is smart enough to pull it of properly. Then again he is earning more than me now i imagine and is a damn site better boxer than me. But I still think he is a 1st class prik cos thats the only side of him i have seen

Boxing is a spectator sport and if no one turns up to watch and no one watches on TV then how does a promoter pay their purse? But the fact that you are here talking about him during a weekday when you could be doing something else, surely confirms that he is doing something right. BTW you would be really suprised at some of the boxnation fighters who have it written in their contracts that they dont have to see tickets.
it doesn't mean the plug gets pulled that second though, if something is consistently not watched it simply cannot be put on tv, eastenders has been on tv years if its average viewing figures are around 5 million (estimate) if that goes down to 4 then 3 then into the hundred thousands it gets pulled eventually, now fans of the show don't put the money in the actors on eastenders hands but if they stopped viewing the actor becomes out of work and it will be the same for any boxer so me for example you say im a troll and I know nothing about boxing, which is fine but if everyone who "doesn't know about boxing" stops viewing the viewing numbers will massively change
