When Toney beat Nunn, Eubank was in camp for Watson. And after literally passing out to make weight and being carried to the scales, knew he had to move up in weight. Jones signed to fight James Toney, while Eubank was on his £10,000,000 World Tour.
Why the fcuk would you want him to leave?? You bet welching tw@t... with your ****py predictions...many of us wouldn't give a toss if you fcuked off!! But we (mostly) don't demand that you do one!! Leave Sir Chris be!! He's entertaining!!
1) Look what that did to Roy's legacy. Phenomenal win! He EMBARRASSED the greatest fighter on the planet at that point. Toney was THE MAN between '90-'94. And Roy made him look like a novice. 2) Look who Chris fought on that tour - laughable! 3) Where is the link to this article please? I'd like to see the source of it.
Be quiet. Real world terms? NOBODY but YOU is mentioning Chris's pay days (besides, he's skint now. So what do they matter?). Besides, if you never saw any of it why are you bragging about it? We (and many others) would be talking about those fights for years to come had he not been petrified of the yanks. Makes me laugh how Chris shared a few divisions for YEARS with outstanding American talent yet didn't face one of the elite. Fair play to Benn. He was supposed to fight Leonard, he done Barkley, and he took on THE most feared man in Boxing at the time in the G-Man and came out with the "W".
Why not blame the WBO for not mandating some of this outstanding American talent (in other divisions!). Oh wait, they did - Tim Littles in '92, who was rated as highly a prospect as Jones or McClellan back then, and we know what happened; Tim pulled out injured, and WBO mandated Tony Thornton as his replacement. Eubank was going through with the Littles fight.
Toney was The Ring's fighter of '91. He was THE MAN. Lol @ "You're not seeing the source". Why not just tell everyone that you made it up? God you're a weirdo. McCallum beat him twice? You utter moron.
Because Chris HIMSELF said that he didn't want to fight any top yanks - that's why the blame lies with him.
He was fighter of the year for his Buster Douglas moment against Nunn and being an active 21-year-old world champ, and the McCallum draw when he was expected to lose, and getting off the deck to go 12 with Reggie J, etc. He deserved it. In 1992 he clearly lost to Tiberi and McCallum, and if he was 'the man' he wouldn't have been such a huge underdog against a shot-to-**** Iran, you dime bar!
Eubank clearly stated he wanted Nunn and Toney ASAP - Eubank/Holmes ITV pre-fight. And felt he could beat them. Bob Arum shot it down, saying Eubank had too much of an awkward style for his fighters. Nunn, post-fight interview after Ashley fight, referred to Eubank as "poison".
It was only when King guaranteed Nunn a huge purse and big fights still if he lost that he entertained the thought of taking on Eubank.
Look at this thread, and other sources, Eubank HIMSELF said he didn't want any part of the yanks. You really are the most deluded poster I've come across on ANY forum.
