I seriously can't see Tyson beating Vitali, the height advantage is huge. Tyson isn't knocking Vitali down let alone out. Tyson's face would look like a smashed bag of crabs...

 

Tyson is not knocking Vitali down or out? Are you serious? Prime Tyson threw atom bombs. Only hope Vitali has is to somehow survive early and extend Tyson late. I highly doubt it. Tyson KO 5.

 

vitali would last longer than wlad, i'd fear for poor wladdie against iron mike, not sure he'd make double figures ... seconds that is.

Physical fight, Tyson starts quick and Vitali counters, Vitali would be stronger after the 8-9th rd but may be a bit of a war before that....Vitali had a good chin but his defense may be a better asset because not many chins are Tyson proof but we saw what clinchers like Smith,Green and Tucker could do. If Mike can not get to Vitali he will become frustrated by the 8th rd. when Vitali usually started sitting on his punches and Mike may look for a seat

could go either way-anyone pick prime 4 prime but I may favor Vitali on styles

When Tyson met Berbick for a real belt he delivered.....

When Tyson met Smith and Tucker for other real belts he delivered pretty much by shut outs....

When Tyson met Spinks for another real belt he delivered......

Tyson in his prime never looked for a seat, hardly lost any rounds and one can count on one hand how many hard hits he took up to Douglas....

VK met a ageing but still decent, not washed up Lennox Lewis who had one foot out the door for real belt(s) and did not deliver......as a matter of fact he was carved up like a Turkey dinnner. Now there was nothing sophistcated about that bout, no finesse, no setting traps or methodical strategie for a win, no, just bar room brawling, nothing more or less with Lewis falling in after a lazy jab and mauling VK who had cuts above/under the eye, on his cheek, cut lips and a major cut inside the mouth as a result of it......TKO6.....facts are a stubborn thing.

Tyson would like Lewis fight /brawl not box with him and jump on VK right out of the gate....Tyson is significantly faster than Lewis and does excellent body work against VK's un protected mid section....VK does not clinch, does not throw a uppercut or short hooks inside, Tyson will not allow any long range encounters and will be on him like a cheap suit, Vk's lean back to avoid shots is tailermade for Tyson's leaping left hook a la Saverese /Williams before coming in......same out come as the Lewis fight, bank on it.

I dont even want to get into the Byrd debacle.....if you cant walk down /stop Byrd than you aint beating Tyson, no way no how, period.

 

That would be one the best hw fights ever. Vitali would control him in my view, and Mike would have to eat massive shots to get in range, VK's chin means he'd need to land several TNT blows.

 

LOL, how many "massive" shots did the undersized no power Byrd take...or the less than stellar chinned Lewis ? Vk's power is ridiculousley over rated..............Grandpa Foreman stopped Moorer with ONE punch while a similar aged VK had to throw the kitchen sink into a washed up Peter , Briggs or the fat Mexican. A prime and later, still formidible Lewis was stopped by ONE punch TWICE by genuine ham and eggers and VK could barely buzz him in their encounter....."massive shots" lol.

Well put. I don't see Vitali keeping Mike off of him. Never used his size and reach as effectively as the other prime giants. This would probably be surprisingly one-sided. Not because Vitali wasn't a very good heavyweight; just a terrible matchup for him.
