The Hawk Julian Jackson vs Triple G Gennady Golovkin Two of the hardest hittinest middleweights to lace em up Who wins both at their middleweight best.
Whoever lands first. I'd pick Julian, as his power is more "instant" - he connects and you (usually) go down and stay down. He is the better KO artist out of the two. Golovkin's power wears you down. But you wouldn't see a fight at MW with as much power in the ring at any one time if those two had met.
Let's revisit this after 2016 Golovkin, if he continues to win- is primed for a huge 2016. One that will greatly impact in a positive way his all time ranking.
Golovkin is hittable against light punchers; he tends to disregard their power and wades straight in. Against guys that can crack, he is more cautious. Let's see how he handles Lemieux :hey
J Jackson was also there to be hit. McCallum and Drayton had success in smothering and walking him down on the inside. Jackson is right in front of his opponents trading waiting for his superior firepower to land. I think this match up is more 50/50 at 154lbs.
When has Julian's jaw been cracked, let alone repeatedly? McCallum stopped him on his feet after being out on his feet himself, in a BS stoppage. And McClellan had heavier hands than Golovkin could dream of having. It was a pinpoint body punch that crippled Jackson in G-Man II fight.
GGG has an iron chin. He fought and beat a who's who in the amateurs and was never stopped. In the pro's punches do not phase him to the point where he has to change plans. GGG via KO inside 5 rounds.
I'd pick Golovkin. Jackson's poor defense and shaky chin would make him vulnerable to the attacks of the more skilled and poised GGG.
Jackson was a very sharp puncher who worked well inching forward behind the jab, and VERY good body puncher from his tight stance. He didn't brawl or bomb, he took advantage of times to strike and we never saw the guy reckless.
Jackson was a boxer-puncher with very solid skill, very fast hands and unbelievable one-punch hook torque/accuracy into KO blow.
