Vitali Klitschko vs Mike Tyson

Both guys were tough as hell. You can make a good case for either of them. Someone set up one of those polls and we'll take a vote. No doubt Tyson was way more exciting to watch, but I just think Vitali has some ingredients that would be really tough for him.

 

Try Tokyo 1990, or Holyfield 2 just to be going on with.

 

WTF is there to " misunderstand " about the Douglas loss? Tyson WAS NOT fukking unlucky. He got out boxed, out punched, out thought, out fought. out strengthed, out everything in fact.

Then!! he got knocked the fukk out. Again what is there to misunderstand?????????????????

You most certainly can disagree with me, and furthermore you are more than entitled too.

I simply take a different viewpoint to yours. I firmly believe that Tyson was only EVER a mental collapse waiting to happen, it is / was just fortunate / misfortunate ( depending where you stand ) that Douglas was the first man to expose this lack of mental fortitude.

I also firmly believe that Douglas cared less about boxing than a fox cares about a chicken in the general scheme of things. He just saw an opportunity to make an enormous amount of money in a very short time by exposing a total myth, then going back to his lackadaisical attitude, and he grabbed it with both hands.

I am completely convinced he knew he could get enough money in one year to indulge himself for 6, then just go back to boxing in the same way a labourer goes back to a building site when he runs out of money.

 

I'm older than Tyson, so I remember him very well in his prime, but unlike you, I don't believe the style he imposed, works against every fighter in history. And I think size does make a difference unless the skill difference is so vast as to negate it, I don't believe this to be the case in this situation. I just think he's too small for the talented, elite, super heavyweights of which Vital was one of those.

Vitali beats Tyson. Vitali is a style nightmare for Tyson.

Vitali was easily beating Lewis, almost KOd him in round 2 and had Lewis almost finished by the end of 6.

 

Vitali was a lot better than Lewis, and Lewis was elite.

 

I have no idea which fight you were watching but it wasn't the Lewis - Vitali fight.

The Lewis - VK fight had VK hanging on for dear life at the end of the 6th round, and a medical doctor may have saved him from becoming blind.

You should really watch it sometime, it was an entertaining fight.

 

LOL, I love that fight, even though I am more of a Vitali fan than a Lewis fan. It exemplifies what I love about boxing. Here you have a champ, Lewis, whose heart must have been in his shorts after getting a shellacking from Vitali. :yep He realises that he has gravely underestimated his opponent, and that he has criminally undertrained. BUT! Instead of trying to run, or grab n' hold, he throws caution to the wind, determined to go out on his shield. :bbb And Lo! he manages to open up a huge gash, and hammers doggedly at it, even while getting a pounding himself, until the doctor stoppage. :!: I think that fight was a great demonstration of guts and glory, and I'm sad to this day they never had a rematch.
