Does Lemieux have the best chance to beat Golovkin out of Golovkin's past opponents?

Is there any other opponent Golovkin has faced who had a better chance at beating him other than Lemieux? And don't think solely about resumes but style as well.

The only way to beat Golovkin is to push him back, if you try to counter punch him you don't stand a chance, most likely any style will fail against GGG, but yes David has the power and the strength to force GGG out of his comfort zone, but he'll still probably lose.

I don't think any of his opponents have had a real chance to beat him. No one at middleweight does. I think Murray had the best chance of going the distance though so that's something.

    Yes!!!

Because he always has that punch.

It's like Wilder vs Wlad... Wilder is ****... But he has that punchers chance. It's the same with Stevenson vs Kovalev... You can NEVER dismiss a puncher.

Not so sure just cause of styles. Canelo is best when he's fighting someone who comes after him so he can counter. Would be interesting though because Canelo is a very stationary fighter and likes to hang on the ropes at times.

Two reasons why GGG would eat him up not including how Golovkin is a better counterpuncher. Canelo has the speed edge though, but timing trumps speed.

GGG would age Canelo by 10 years... forget about it... Only the fans would win in that fight... and certainly not Canelo fans. Don't forget GGG fight Mexicin fight and he'd out Mexican Canelo and make him a good boy for drama show, to please the fans.

Oh my gosh, how epic. A Khazak fighter beating a mexican fighter by fighting mexican style. Hope we see it next spring!

Lemieux is naturally bigger, hits harder, Lemieux isn't face first he jabs his way in, and would exhaust Canelo with his constant pressure, I'm a fan of Canelo's but his power isn't very devastating enough to badly hurt Lemieux IMO, it would be interesting, I almost wish Canelo and Lemieux would fight before either of them get to GGG.

Lamule definately does, but he would be smart to play the role of boxer puncher in this fight. Dont get into heated exchanges, and counter with hard shots to the head and body when GGG touches him to set up his big punches... in other words stike first and move..

I'd take Lemieux over any of Golovkin's past opponents (for the purpose of defeating GGG), but I still side w/ GGG in this fight. I was curious to see how GGG would handle Murray and Monroe Jr based on their defense/chin/craftiness, obviously GGG passed (although Monroe did raise a few questions). I had similar curiosity seeing GGG take on Stevens and Rubio due to their power/output/willingness to engage (hindsight says Rubio had little willingness), and GGG again passed. Lemmy brings the latter of the two styles but his power is truly elite, his attack is determined, and he won't back down (at least initially, he may have his spirit broken). DL has enough strength to stand and fight and GGG takes shots, generally after becoming comfortable w/ his opponent, so there is an avenue for Lem to land a missle.

After the fight maybe it's different, maybe he reacts like Macklin and backs off but I doubt it. I think GGG KOs Lemieux, but I'd still take him over anyone on GGG's resume (which seems like an easy opinion to come to after having seen his opponents all get beat, but you get the idea).

Hmm, you raise some great points. I think it's a 50-50 fight, If Canelo chins holds up he can get Lemieux to the body and end it. Lemieux get's hurt badly by body shots(but who doesn't).
