The Battleship Povetkin Will Brutally KO + Retire the Fraudulent Deontay Wilder (!)

Wilder is a remake of an old story. build up and make a big pay day. then throw him to the wolves. reminds me of the old movie "The harder they fall" with Humphrey Bogart. Think that was the name of it. Interesting movie with Rod Steiger also had an older Max Baer (Jethro Bodine's dad) in it.

1. I don't think they'll ever fight. With any luck, after Wlad disposes of Fury, he'll work out a deal with Wilder to fight and Wlad will take the WBC title. Wlad deserves the shot much more than Povetkin. Povetkin can rematch Wlad at that point.

2. "Fraud"? Please, I thought he was extremely overhyped for a long time, but give the devil his due. He beat Stiverne, a hard chinned, hard punching top contender. I was certain Stiverne would win, I figured that was the exact type of fighter to expose Wilder, because Wilder would have to take some hard power shots to test his chin and would out box him as getting a ko was unlikely. But I was wrong, at least I can admit it. You've got to be able to admit when you've misjudged someone when its clear you have, not just say "that fight doesn't mean anything and pull the standard up higher.

3. All that said, I still think Povetkin beats Wilder. Povetkin's probably head and shoulders #2 in the division. Wilder is somewhere in the 3-6 range. No shame for Wilder in losing, so if the fight does happen, and Wilder does lose, he won't be "exposed", except to people like MVC who think he's the next great HW champ.
