    Mitchell wins IMO

I think Campbell is one for the future but not there yet, think any of the experienced, top UK lightweights would beat him at the moment. That isn't a criticism of Campbell, he may well be the best but needs another 12 months

Really? Even current version of the Rickster you'd pick to beat him? :huh

Yes. Think Campbell has all the talent but would be hussled

Hope he stays active in the next 12 months and gets good learning fights against experienced opposition - ideally those on the slide but still have all the tricks

Not convinced Ricky Burns is in that category yet - may not get back to his previous level but thought he looked good against Figueroa. The last fight doesn't mean anything, maybe I will be proved wrong in his next fight

As it stands today, do any of the current British LW's beat Ricky?

Well if they are looking at him fighting for a world title this time next year, as they said, that is realistically only two to three fights away.

If the division was stacked, they might give it a longer time frame and while Lightweight is strong domestically it's pretty weak overall.

Right this second now, Mitchell stops him in my opinion.

Say in a year? When they are looking to have Campbell fight for a world title (ideally Mitchell will beat Linares in a rematch and Campbell will become mando)

Mitchell has just fought one of the best lightweights in the world and Campbell has fought one of the best lightweights in ....err....Hull.
I can't believe Campbell is winning this poll.

I understand styles make fights and that certain style can give a certain fighter problems but the reason I went for Mitchell is because Campbell's best win is Coyle and I wasn't impressed, would Coyle drag Mitchell 10 rounds?

Campbell looked very beatable to me, Coyle is frightening vunerable and managed to survive to 9 rounds so that tells me Campbell isn't a very big puncher.

As for a years time well it depends on how much Campbell improves, he is closer 30 years old than 20 years old, he is not a baby so how much more can he really improve? obviously experience will be a huge benefit but as for Mitchell winning a world title I could imagine him having a bounce in performances for a period, his confidence would rocket and the pressure of winning that world title would have been lifted from his shoulders and I believe he would be a much better fighter for it.

If Mitchell wins a world title I'd go for Mitchell in the next year but if it's a final eliminator or something like that in a year then I would have to see what has happened to both of them in the meantime.

I think Mitchell hits harder and would probably beat Coyle sooner but I think Campbell would still beat Mitchell

Mr H you're a sound judge in my opinion so you obviously have solid reasons for picking Campbell :good

It is a fight that looks more likely to happen than not, it would be superb if it was for a world title.
