Beterbiev is from dagostan which is in russia but Russians don't accept them as russians, he'd be booed out of the building hard.

It's like having a Palestinian fight in israel and calling it his home country.

Beterbiev thought he pull Kovalev's punk card and he would duck him, only he didn't and pulled Beterbiev punk card by taking it. Beterbiev looks like a real b**** here and there's no getting around it. It was a duck in the purest sense of the word.

So Beterbiev did to Kovalev what Kovalev did to Stevenson.

No that wasn't a duck at all, Haymon and Stevenson baited Kovalev into that knowing he had an iron clad contract with HBO he didn't want to break, Stevenson literally signed with Haymon and jump ship to another channel to avoid the Krusher. Stevenson found a new way to duck Kovalev and make Kovalev look bad in the process.:deal

wasn't iron clad there are ways around it. but over time each fighter could make 2-3 million each if the fight is in montreal.

the reason i think it is not a duck and its a wait out is that.
Beterbiev vs kovalev in russia is a NO money fight.
or they could wait it out a couple more fights and each promotor could make way more money.

just like lemiuex vs ggg, nobody in his camp thinks lemiuex will win, but they are making the most money for the fight without the risk of him losing to someone else first.

    Kova beats stevenson
Beterbiev vs kovalev is too close to call almost.

The thing is, at least Kovalev at the time was already an established champion with three belts, they had agreements with HBO and probably just didn't want to fight on Haymon's turf.

However, in this case Beterbiev is no one, he's being given a pretty amazing opportunity at the three titles, in the end we all know they'll try and get Kovalev to vacate.

I don't know why people are upset.
It's not a good fight right now. I was one of the few hoping this fight wouldn't happen next and I'm happy it isn't.

Artur needs more pro experience and needs to build up more.
If Sergey Kovalev beats him now he won't get any credit. I don't know why people are trying to make it seem like it'll be considered an ATG win. They're going to be like, "Oh he beat a 9 fight pro, he's fighting nothing but bums!!"
If Artur loses it's going to be hard to come back from it. "No it isn't, he only has 9 fights. People will understand." That's BS, look at Lomachenko, fights a tough rough veteran in his 2nd pro fight and loses a close decision that could have gone his way and people still give him sh*t because he officially has a defeat. Nobody is praising him saying, "Oh he had the b*lls to fight Salido in just his 2nd fight." Hell NO! That's what people use against him to try and discredit him and make him look like ****. It'll be the same with Artur.
Plus this is a fight that could have a bad affect on their careers, they both hit hard af!

I do believe Beterbiev is slightly afraid of Kovalev at this point, and he has every right to be, Sergey is a vastly improved fighter and has equal if not superior power to Beterbiev. I think Beterbiev set out to make kovalev look bad by excepting his offer hoping Sergey would duck him and Kovalev showed he wasn't afraid of Beterbiev in the least and Artur blinked.
