    If Marciano had come in 30lbs heavier against anyone, his already slow feet would have become stationary.:deal

    You think Tua was competitive against Lewis?
    Scorecards =117-111,119-109,118-110
    Punchstats = Lewis 300 of 674 Tua 110 of 410.

    Why?

    Do you want a list of fighters who gained 30lb (Tua included) who did not become stationary?

    Why try so hard to believe Marciano is the only guy from the history of the planet who never could have benefited from modern training?

    What I enjoy about Rocky is exactly that he was NOT this elegant, graceful puncher like Louis or this wonderful mover like Ali. He didn't have a body beautiful like Wlad or the charisma of Dempsey.
    On paper the poor sod didn't seem to have a whole lot going for him and as you say you watch him and he's doing almost as much wrong as right.
    But he won and won and just kinda kept winning.
    Turns out he was quite good at the winning part.
    Fighters who said he made a ton of mistakes and weren't impressed by him sang a different tune afterwards.
    It's like he became a great by accident on purpose.

    You just cannot get your head around the fact that Tua and Marciano were totally different body types.I'm not going to waste any more time on this with you, Foxy can pull you to bits if he chooses but there is no profit or pleasure in my spending
    further time doing so.
    You and Orlin Norris should get a room.:patsch:hi:

    To be fair Tua is a Samoan and they're different to the rest of us humans. ;) That said, it does look like Marciano could have added some more weight to his frame. I think his footwork is slow because of the way he sets himself up to punch, tbh

    And if his footwork was so slow, how did he mange to hit anyone with his 67 inch reach? He must have cut the distance to be in range to land. Look at his knockout of Walcott in their first fight:he takes 3 small steps and then a larger one to get in position to land the kayo punch; that might not be quick footwork, but it's effective footwork!

    If Lennox came in looking for the KO, Rocky is out in 3. Rocky doesn't have enough size or skill to handle that monster.
