You pick one fight out of his whole career to prove this point? He wasn't in his prime then and probably didn't take the fight seriously. A focused Lewis in his prime mauls Rocky.
Can't reason with these guys, man. The idea that there are men who are too big, athletic, and skilled for Marciano to impose his will upon is a threat to some of their core beliefs. It reminds me of a friend I had in grad school who thought that his dad could beat up anybody in the world.
Don't get me wrong: "my favorite fighter/hero on the best day of his life vs. better fighter on the worst day of his life" is a fun game too...but it's a different question.
They're too blinded to believe anything factual. Rock could not compete with someone that big and skilled. He would literally stand zero chance.
I could pick a ton of fights Lewis had that he would have been lucky it was not Rocky in there with him. I watched every single one of them at the time. Followed all the guys Lewis fought, knew where they all really were in their careers at that time Lewis fought them and what impressions they made. It is not just a list of names to me. For all Lewis had magnificent attributes he had flaws too. Even though he wiped out Golota, Grant and Ruddock like a great fighter he had more average moments like Mavrovic, Chanet, Billups, Butler, Phil Jackson and Dropped the ball twice when it counted. He had it all but he was not a cast iron deal. That's why it took him so long to catch on, he kind of outlasted everyone else. For much of his career Lewis was often just "one of the best two" guys. You never had that with true great guys before Lewis. "He got there in the end". Nobody says that about Tyson or Joe Louis. Not saying Lewis has not got the tools to beat Rocky, he has! Lewis really has what it takes to beat him but it is never ever going to be easy. Never going to be a done deal. You can't call or predict one round uncompetitive mismatches between genuine great fighters without looking foolish. Ever.
It's factual that Marciano was better than Mavrovic and Ray Mercer. And Oliver Mcall, Hasim Rahman...
Are you really stupid enough to claim that the 60lbs extra weight Tua had over Marciano was ALL fat?atsch
Lewis was hitting a 228lb natural Heavyweight Billups, not a 185 Cruiserweight. Why don't you try watching what he did to a blown up Cruiser 2 fights earlier in the McCrory fight.
Yeah, I dunno. This sounds way too reasonable, as though you knew what you were talking about. :think We can't have that sort of talk around here! The other guys have convinced me. KO1 it is. In fact, Rocky faints from Lewis' awesomness when Lennox raises his arms to acknowledge the presenter. Can't be any other way.
Nope, I'm taking a leaf out of your book in this instance. Some people are like religious freaks. It doesn't how much evidence is presented to them they just keep replying " I believe " and as such you just laugh at the fools and let them wallow in their ignorance.
