Should hall of famers who drew the color line not be rated as highly?

    Holmes' ducking is pretty exaggerated.

How do we rate Black fighters who do the same like I said it's not always black and white
    Lets start with
    SRR
    Joe Louis
    Jack Johnson

they cant claim to be undisputed champions without beating the "coloured" champion (how mooronic that sounds today) since the wrld title is disputed by another world champion until they do.

    thus sully and his contemporaries.

I'd give jack Dempsey a pass because he beat the man who beat the unified champion in Johnson, and from then on things get somewhat fairer.

If, by drawing the colour line, they dodged a dangerous opponent, then their legacy should be diminished. Talking boxing only, obviously

Many white, black, brown, yellow fighters have ducked their contenders why only make an issue of white fighters who ducked black fighters as if nobody else did. This stuff has to end, Some of the best fighters in boxing history ducked guys why the emphasis on white fighters as if they were the only ones. The greatest black fighters ducked their own black brothers with hardly nothing said about it, we only hear, the same tired debates about Dempsey vs Wills. Louis, Robinson and Johnson didn't fight their most dangerous black opponents and for the same reasons but hardly nothing is said, why????

because they were able to do it without question for so long during several eras. They don't get off scot-free just for living in a heavily Nazi America especially since they are ducking a large contigent of people not just one or two individuals

whereas today we can question readily anyone who ducks.

Rate them according to resume and performance. Penalise them only if they missed out on a clear #1 or persistent #2 contender.

"heavily Nazi America", hmmmm!!! So that explains why it's a black n white issue, but how does that explain why Louis, Robinson, and Johnson did the same???

It depends on who they actually avoided for me, a champ ducking 3 black contenders because of race is no worse that another ducking 3 white contenders based purely of not liking the fight.

if a fight between two black men will sell less than black v white then it makes sense why those guys chose to fight whites, not to excuse it but it does make sense.

So damn "noble" are the posters who 90 years or more later want to
penalize certain fighters who lived in a different age and society than they do today....Were these "punishers" today have lived in the shoes and social climate of 100 years ago, they would be singing a different tune I bet..
I have said this before but it is worth repeating, " we are by and large a product of our times "...Everyone even today "discriminates" on the basis of their emotions and desires, though they wouldn't admit it....
