Holmes is the one guy I pick above Lewis head to head. I think he has the meanness and power to make Lennox respect him, and the durability to take occasional right hand bombs.

    Very best version of both.

    Lennox takes it.

Lewis would be to strong for holmes.holmes was used to having the reach ,Lewis was another animal size, reach and skill, you can argue about the better jabs but Lewis could adapt without one,Larry couldn't,and i'll take the 83/84 inch jab and overall skill of Lewis,if spinks somewhat gave holmes a hard time though he lost both fights really,i don't see where Holmes does much with a bigger better fighter.

I like Lennox here by KO before the 7th, Lewis had a better right hand than any of Holmes opponents and he had huge amateur pedigree, Holmes did not have the kind of power to tip LL's chin.

This won't be an easy fight for either man.. The only wrong pick is one which emphatically favors one over the other with ease.. Anybody can take it. But whoever does is going to have the toughest fight of his career. I like Holmes by narrow decision. I think he was more mobile than Lewis, had the chin to take his shots and would present a style that Lennox never really fought against. And if it's scheduled for 15 rounds then only one of them had ever been that far and that's Larry..There really aren't many boxers on Lewis's record let alone ATG ones.

Lewis would be very tough but I kind of see Holmes boxing and work rate frazzle Lewis. Bruno could only keep it up for a few rounds. Holmes could do 15 good rounds circa 1980.

Holmes vs Roy Tiger Williams is a good fight to watch for an example of him outperforming a dangerous, bigger heavier guy trying to win. And Lewis vs Mavrovic is a good fight to study too for an example of work rate unsettling Lewis too.

That would either be one of the dirties fights ever or containing some 30 KD's!

Wouldn't have been an easy fight at all, but I feel Holmes would have won. I feel his jab would have provided a lot of difficulty for Lewis, and his movement would have made Lewis look very awkward at times. Of course, Lewis has a puncher's chance, but I'd make Holmes the favorite.
