If Mike Tyson was around today, would he be a bigger star than Floyd?

Look at it this way, Floyd will never have his own Nintendo game. Also M. Bison from Streetfighter was ispired by Mike. So thats like 2 Nintendo games.

 

No one would care about Floyd, Pac, or Golovkin if we had great heavyweights. It's a sad fact of the sport. When we have great exciting heavyweight fights welters and middleweights are almost ignored by comparison. The Klitschko brothers fighting outside of America is probably the reason why the smaller guys emerged as stars. Same thing happened when Larry Holmes was ducking all of his top contenders and people were disillusioned with the heavyweight division in the early eighties. Leonard, Hagler, and Hearns emerged to fill the vacuum.

I think prime Tyson would domimate this era.. He would always have had trouble with prime Lewis and Holyfield.. but if Mike landed on Lewis like he did Douglas it would be night time.

You've seen Wilder (who?) pulling decent numbers the first time he fought anyone (supposedly) having a pulse (turn out his place was the hospital, but still).

He transcended the sport and we don't have a single fighter around now who has. Floyd was the flavour of the week during the Pac buildup and fight but he is not a genuine STAR. Tyson was.

 

Tyson TODAY way past his prime is more popular then Floyd.

His fights are generally boring, WAY TOO BORING for the casual fans, yet he's the only boxer they follow !
