If Mike Tyson was around today, would he be a bigger star than Floyd?

    He isn't.
Before the Pac fight maybe 5% of the people I know knew who he was. Now it's about up to 25% because of the reports of the massive payday.

In the Tyson era even my granny knew who Tyson was. If you didn't you lived under a rock.

50 y/o Vitali Klitschko would be anyone's best opponent.

    Too small?

    Today's top 20 is awful.

It doesn't matter how big today's guys are. Mike would have had a birthday against them.

Yeah, Berbick, Spinks, Holmes and Bruno etc were all cans.

All those guys would be considered some of the best HW's if they fought today.

    You're hilarious.

Go and look at today's top 20 guys.

The hw scene in 86 was garbage and was wide open for Tyson. He could act like a clown and still beat bums of the 80's, not so in the 90's and I doubt now would be any different. I just don't see a 5'11" guy being hw champ again ever.

Nonsense. Tyson faded in the 90s because he was no longer interested in boxing, wasn't training properly, his personal life was a mess. If he'd been born a decade later he'd have steamrolled the 90s heavyweights in the same way he did the 80s, then people would be saying the 90s was a weak era when he faded in the 00s!

No, the aura disappeared in 90 with Douglas, that was what done Mike in the 90's. Guys were not scared of him anymore, knew he could be beaten and KO'd. I'm not doing him down, I'm a Mike fan but his greatest weapon was intimidation and that melted when he was KO'd. Coming out of jail he was still a force but was never going to recapture what he lost in Osaka regardless of training.

Most of those so called bums would be in today's top ten, and considered some of today's better HW's.
