Max Baer. Out on his own in the over-rated charts. One of the worst, least aesthetic boxers to become champ IMO. Nice guy I think but just......no. No.
Contemporary: Roy Jones Pre-1950: Cerdan Cop-out pick that brings grand total way over 3: 70's heavyweights. It's the halo effect of Ali's star power, and some guys having success against him, that lead to the entire generation getting H2H accolades that stretch too far. Some people act as though every subsequent generation of heavyweights just forgot how to fight once Ali retired and that the only few people ever capable of challenging him happened to have, coincidentally enough, fought in that same era.
Ricardo Lopez is there or thereabouts. He was a wonderful fighter but Jesus Christ some of the things people write about him.
If Roy was 25 today, this would be a Roy Jones forum, with the amount of threads about him. Look at the interest that Kov and GGG have on here. I think that would x 10 if Roy was peak. He's criminally underrated.
Well Jones gets his due at 168lbs. Probably gets a bit low-balled at 175lbs. But I think he's a tad overrated in the ATG stakes at 160lbs.
