Wlad has exceptional footwork and handspeed, among the very best of any of the superheavies.

I understand where you're coming from but for me carnera was pretty light on his feet for a man of his size . possibly the mainstream view of carnera being slow and ponderous as far as his foot work is concerned is a little to easy to make

It's hard to find someone who is lacking in all three areas. Marciano was slow of hand and foot, but had good balance. Leon Spinks had lousy balance but was quick of hand and foot. Carnera, as previously stated, wasn't as bad as people like to say he was.

I'm going to say Jess Willard, but there may be a better overall pick somewhere out there.

Old Foreman was so exceptionally slow that he wins this, despite having good balance.

Ok so if we seperate into

    Hand speed

    Foot speed

    Balance

And it's not just one lineal champ but pick a winner if you like in each category from the lineal champs

    Old Foreman, Old Foreman, Patterson.

Strangely, Patterson had possibly the best hand and foot speed and old foreman possibly had the best balance.

I'm sure Marciano will get a mention.

Some guys here have not a clue. How right you are.

Worst hand speed? Maybe Willard. Worst balance? Maybe Willard again. Worst foot speed? Hard call.

Joe Louis has iffy balance and foot speed for a great fighter.

Marciano had bad balance, Manny Steward commented on it in his appraisal of him.Willard is probably in the frame.

Tommy Burns had fast feet, good hand speed, and balance he was a world class Lacrosse player.Carnera was no Nureyev but for his size quite nimble I think his hand speed is on a par with the champion who preceded Patterson.

Tommy Burns...couldn't hack it at middleweight, so went up to heavyweight won the title over the worst champion of all time, then proceeded to defend his title against a bunch of European tomato cans and a good light heavyweight. Then got tossed around the ring like a small child vs Jack Johnson
