Ricky was a great pressure fighter, technically not the greatest put he broke people's hearts the way he kept coming forward taking shot but given shots back and ultimately wearing his opponents down, unfortunately Ricky was his own master of his downfall and the weight fluctuations between fights weren't healthy
Yeah Hatton was an A class fighter , OK got hammered against absolute prime Mayweather and Pacquioa, but who didn't at that stage.
I'm going to state the bloody obvious here but why not after all he accomplished more than barry mcguigan didn't he
Mate, I remember a clip of him being in the studio for sky on a Saturday night and he looked like a disgusting slob. His hands were fat, he was bursting out of his suit and he looked bigger than Johnny Nelson! He could be a right state at times, Ricky. Shame really, because if he had a world class nutritionist AND strength & conditioning coach (not some bodybuilder), he'd probably not long retired (properly).
He came up short in his prime against two ATG's. That's not really being exposed. He was overall solid. He may make it.
His undefeated run was nothing short of amazing (Tszyu is a big name). Unified the JrWW division. Man to beat for a good 4 years (I guess) in that division. Even after having defeated by FMJ, he still got good wins against Malignaggi and Lazcano. He got defeated by 2 new ATG's in FMJ and Pac. Ain't no shame in that. (Should've remained retired though, the Senchenko loss was unnecessary ) He is one of those boxers who just happened to be born in the wrong generation where there are two stars in Floyd and Manny whose accomplishments simply outshines everybody else's. He'd get it one day. And I think he would deserve it.
I wouldn't really compare Hatton to the lesser fighters on the list unless I'm being biased or plain idiotic. Hatton is one of the fighters that earned his spot there. Losing to P4P#1 fighters doesn't change anything, he still competed at that level and gained tremendous fame doing so.
