Yet in his next fight,he went in with the beast that was Liston who had an even mightier left hook than Cooper besides all his other artillery and Ali didn't look close to being hurt.
The main difference he took Cooper lightly and was clowning around, whereas against Liston he was totally disciplined.

cooper didn't nearly stop him at all, clay was clowning at the crowd, you can see it if you bothered to watch the fight.

but the knockdown focused him fast, and you get to see real deal the next round.

Hogwash! Ali was gone, until the smelling salts revived him. He even tries to get off his stool early. I have watched it lots of times.

You're right he did get up off his stool but he wasn't "gone".

then you need to ring the RNIB, he got up from the knockdown and walked easily back to his corner himself.

    he wasn't out at all.

and he beat Cooperman not once but twice, easily stopping him both times.

Very true on the smelling salts. As for the glove delay its hard to say if it was a factor. Guys recover at different rates.

Getting up and walking back to his corner was largely an instinctive act. I bet you he remembered none of that.

Ali was 21 with 18 pro fights and at 207 lbs still hadn't filled out to his prime form yet. Inexperience combined with arrogant pride and physical immaturity along with Cooper getting a good shot off, resulted in a humbling moment. Ali rose to his feat, destroyed Cooper and did it again in the rematch.

He didn't go thru anything the liston fight was relatively even up until the k.o,and the rematch has so much cloud around it with fixes and mob this and that, its irrelevant..Tysos hook was shorter and more compact than fraziers,If Tyson hit ali as many times as Frazier did with it,he would have knocked Ali out about 10 times.I don't put to much stock with cooper as Ali did show he maybe underestimated him however Cooper is not Tyson and really wouldn't even be good enough to be his sparring partner even if Tyson was 15.
