Why would he be? He's proved very little so far and you have to be a very good heavyweight to get in a P4P list in my opinion.

I don't rate Degale as highly as most and I feel a good upcoming fighter should be looking at that belt and think it is there for the taking. Don't get me wrong he is a good fighter but when I hear this talk of him being able to compete with Ward it really does make me laugh. As I said with Selby he has already proved he is world class and I am more doing it on how much talent he has and how good I believe he will become, hence the number 1 ranking.

Well I have never heard Eddie say that but I'm sure you will have a decent Irish fighter to cheer on one day, so don't be bitter while you are waiting.

Fair enough mate, I've always been a huge DeGale fan, so maybe I'm a bit blinkered. Selby is an excellent boxer, I love his style.

Yeah, Degale is definitely a good fighter and is highly rated by most so its probably me underrating him as a fighter, however I feel I am yet to see that one world class performance that confirms it for me. He was superb against Dirrell for the first 4-5 rounds and he was good in the last 2 but in between that he looked very average.
