Liston gets thrown in the water and sharkey smells blood and bites his arms off leaving him for dead a total mismatch,liston should have never went swimming.
I agree with every word of this. When Sharkey was good he was great. Sharkey fought a lot of top level guys, I think his career was like 90% against name fighters. It was not like Sharkey had 20-30 build up fights before cracking the top ten. Liston really did not experience that much high competition even against top guys. Often Sonny was empowered by the fear of his opponents. Like Tyson, Listons career was So much one way traffic that it possibly hurt season him to an extent. A terrific talent almost a victim of his own success. So for me, this match really depends on what side of the bed Sharkey gets out of. Jack sharkey was big enough to fight Liston, but if his minds not 100% Sharkey is getting battered like cod in a chip shop. No question about that. Otherwise it could be very intresting.
