Chin Talk - Why this forum is the #1

    The reason why ESB is the premier boxing forum on the net (and has been for years) is that we have a dedicated core membership that understands and discusses the importance of punch resistance in this sport we love.

    On other, less successful competitors you will see phrases regularly banded around such as:

    "that punch would have KO'd anybody'
    "anybody can be knocked out, that's boxing'

    or my personal favourite:

    "Khan's chin is not the problem"


    Here at ESB we debunk those myths, lies and fallacies long before the other forums even have any idea their favourite fighters have Glass Jaws.

    Who called out Roy Jones had a Glass Jaw before the Tarver fight?
    Who said Amir Khan had a sandcastle chin before he even turned pro?

    ESB did.

    Punch resistance is one of if not the most important factor for a boxer to be successful. Glass Jaws exist in boxing, and we WILL talk chins on this site.

    Long may it continue.

    I agree. All kinds of trolls started to appear, downgrading the quality. And now are far less members, or active members than use to be.

    This forum certainly has some knowledgeable boxing fans as well as many childish trolls. The main fault I find lately is the censorship is out of hand.
    Bans are doled out to some for ridiculous reasons yet at the same time others post obscene insults & racial slurs at will. When you contact the site to ask why you were banned you never get any response. Most of the Mods join in with the members and discuss boxing & aid the forum I just wonder why they cant all be like that? Its the only thing spoiling a good forum

    But I do wish we talked more about boxing skill... But I haven't seen much offered by other forums in that respect either.

    Will someone explain what hte origin is of this joke of talking about chins excessively? I never read any of the threads, but I see them all the time, so I don't know how this gag originated.

    This is the sad truth. The moderating standards on ESB have really become overly strict.

    One of the best times I've ever had on ESB was the "What is Leonard Ellerbe's role" thread; a thread which NEVER could have happened by today's standards.

    On ESB glass jaws don't discriminate. They exist in every nation, race and creed.

    agree on all points. most of the topics being discussed are just continuations of threads on bseen. i come across very few original thoughts on esb, but then most of the independent thinkers that were here a few years ago, are now gone. most of whats left is a bunch cookie cutter trolls who are just copies of 10 others just like them.
