And he wouldn't fight a giant heavyweight in Johnson, either.

Rocky marciano. Johnson can't take rocky punch & relentless pressure. Rocky hit too hard. Weight is not big different. Rocky via late ko / decision.

McVey - Bear in mind that Jack Johnson was koed by Joe Choynski a much lighter fighter. JJ was also dropped by middleweight Ketchel and, in addition, many felt that Philadelphia Jack O'brien had "beaten" JJ in their no-decision bout.

The difference is that while Marciano was hurt in fights, he could recover. JJ, when seriously hurt, didn't recover.

Good matchup. I have a feeling most will just pick the fighter they are more fond of in this matchup.

I feel the most likely outcome is Marciano hurts Johnson enough and out works him for a UD in an ugly close quarter fight.

I do not rule out though that Johnson has enough strength to grapple with Marciano slowing the pace and mixing in enough good uppercuts to force the refs hand in a stoppage.

Since when do chins improve when a fighter moves up in weight. Johnson had 20+ fights under his belt, and was fighting in his home town. Choynski, who by that time was a little long in the tooth capped him. KO 3.

I think Ali's chin improved as he added weight.174lbs Don ****ell was dropped 3 times and stopped by 162 lbs Randy Turpin.
Jimmy Ellis 155lbs was dropped by157lbs Ruben Carter.Do you think ****ell would have been on the floor three times if he had weighed 205lbs against the 162lbs Turpin, same for Ellis?
Chins improve when a fighter reaches his full maturity.
If you had boxed you would know that.
Johnson was around 35lbs south of his optimum weight when Choynski kod him.Adam states there was little between them in weight when they met.

Don't make the mistake of believing I have any regard for your opinion, I only engage with you to illustrate your biased hate so other posters can see it, and also to highlight your lies.

Johnson may hold him off for a bit with holding hitting and trickery but the relentless pressure and power matched with stamina takes its toll on Johnson and Marciano breaks him down with work-rate and power. I see a clean KO here by Marciano after some sloppy rounds because of styles but im thinking 9th-15th
