Jennings has a decent enough chin. Reckon he would get on his bike if Nichols kept pumping the check jab aswell.

People are riding pretty high on Nichols right now, but let's be real for a minute. I've watched Nichols-Wilder at least ten times and I couldn't help but notice a few things about Dustin "Worm" Nichols.

    1. He actually has a very respectable boxing IQ. Ignoring the check jab that knocked Wilder down, Dustin was touching Wilder with hooks and 1-2's throughout the fight. If you watch closely he was TIMING Wilder's attack very effectively.

    2. Dustin has undeniable pop. Every fight Nichols has been in has ended in a knockout. He is a "take them out or they take me out" type of fighter cut from the same cloth as someone like James Kirkland. I think his larger size actually hampers the true power Nichols is capable of generating (keep in mind he is 6'3).

Given that Nichols is still young, and if I'm being totally honest weight is probably his biggest issue right now, what can he achieve? Is it possible he could hook up with someone like Ann Wolf to really instill the discipline he needs?

It's a shame to see an all action fighter such as Nichols sit on the shelf in complacency due to a few extra pounds. Come back to the squared circle, Dustin, the boxing world needs you to finish what you started with Wilder.

100% agreed. I've heard he hasn't been seen at Butterbeans BBQ joint in almost 3 weeks and he's preparing a comeback at under 400 lbs. Wilder would stand no chance at that point. The lighter weight would mean those hooks and check jabs would land with more consistenCy and he'd take Wilder out in no more than 2 easy rounds. Good post. Spot on

For fans of Worm, you can follow him @wormnichols

Unfortunately for boxheads worldwide, it seems as though Mr. Nichols may be going into the private security business. He released this tweet in 2011:

"Holla atcha boy if anyone needs a body guard or security trying to make moves holla at me"

ATG. I read a report that Wilders handlers gave Nichols a free daily pass to a bbq joint in Tuscaloosa for the whole month before the fight, and he gained 50 lbs , training by eating ribs, brisket, other assorted grilled meats and guzzling beer

He may be the darling of boxing Internet media but looks like he's a savvy business man too. He would be good security for Wilder
