He was a bit unlucky with the shot that caught him in Glasgow, I thank Saverse was slightly better than that but he was done and then Mike did his usual and was still smashing him as the ref tried to stop the fight. I remember reading about Savarese in the Ring in 90/91, was being hyped along with Tommy Morrison as the white American hope. His record is actually quite decent, maybe verging on B class, but he choked on his biggest night. He was quite long necked, I remember thinking that head is going to get clipped.

How did Tyson destroy Savarese? My knee-jerk attempt-to-be-humorous response was "Very quickly."

Tyson, post-Douglas, steamrolled some capable guys very quickly. Stewart, Bruno, Mathis, Seldon, Savarese, Golota, arguably Etienne. Sometimes I think he's underrated at this stage of his career. It's like we're not judging him vs. the 90's heavyweight field, but rather judging him against 80's Mike Tyson.

Tyson was meant to face Buster Douglas in a rematch, but Savarese crashed the party and beat Douglas so Tyson fought Savarese instead.

Didn't they fight in 40 degree weather or something? Maybe he was cold.

Outdoors in Scotland, so yeah it was cold.

I believe Tyson's bodyguard, Darryl Baum, was shot and killed by 50 Cent a couple weeks before this fight.

I guess Tyson had heaters in the ring with him?

Yes even at that point Tyson was still one of the greatest fighters over three rounds.

I think a prime 1988 Tyson could have been Lennox Lewis's worst nightmare.

Darryl Baum was the man who shot 50 Cent, and how do you know what he has done? Are you two homies?

I think Tyson declined quite a bit from the time he fought this fight and the time he faced Lewis. A few years of drugs plus a stint in prison can take a lot out of a man....

"Hommo shot me/three weeks later he got shot down" that's 50s line about Baum on "many men"

50 didn't shoot him because he was still wrecked from the incident. I wouldn't say 50 has never killed anyone with any real conviction, but he didn't kill Baum.
