After watching Quigg-Kiko and Carl-Gonzalez ...

....are you now MORE or LESS confident that Frampton beats Quigg?

 

I'm still confident Carl comes through in a pretty good fight. If anyone gets stopped I really don't think it's Frampton. I just think his movement, angles and sharp punching would be too much for Quigg.

After their respective performances, sorry to sit on the fence but I still have the same confidence. I just think Frampton edges it.

 

Same as above. Im neither more or less confident about framptons ability to beat quigg. Iv not changed my mind in over 4yr and unless theres a dramatic shift in each of there abilitys as a fighter i cant see me changing my opinion.
I do rate quigg and if they were to fight i would sit on the fence as to which i would cheer for. His win over kiko was a great credit to his stock and iv no doubt that they worked on that specific shot that nailed kiko first but upvyo that point he didnt look comfortable in there. hes a fighter that loves going fwd and i know its old hat but as we saw with aurther he just cant box any other way. I think carl will be a lot more punishing as quigg comes fwd and eventually he will naw inyo quiggs confidence. If quigg hasnt stopped carl by 6rds then his chances of winning will start falling imo. Frampton by pts or late stoppage with there been a small chance of quigg stopping carl in the early rds.

 

Less confident but Id still go for Frampton.

I'm not less confident based on Carl's performance, just slightly gone back a bit based on Quiggs performance.

OK nick, but are you sure that you're correct in being impressed by Quiggs performance? After all it was only one punch, no?
Strong chance it was a fluke, no?
The rest of the fight (for what 'rest' there was!), Quigg didnt impress me - he looked like he was not coping with Kiko at all.

 

It proved that Quigg has some power and Frampton proved he can get put down so it could easily go anyway.

 

Well ok, but what he gained in terms of his demonstration of 'power' (which could have been a fluke anyway), was more than offset by how poorly he appeared to be coping with Kiko up to landing the uppercut....and it was just one punch remember. Something there is no guarantee he can reproduce in a fight with Carl ,or for that matter in any other fight.

Whereas Carl (albeit below par), turned in a masterful performance of slick boxing round after round from 2 thru 12, no? Something he has proven he can reproduce again and again round after round...

 

Thats pretty much a given when your level of competition is so poor and you're fighting in your own backyard every time.

Munroe and Quigg have shown just how one dimensional Kiko was/is, yet he's the only notable win on Carls resume, you even picked him to beat Quigg ffs.

You should get out more Len.

 

The way the poll is going gives rise to concern as to the calibre of poster on here. Most seem to put a one-shot possible Hail Mary ahead of 11 rounds of masterful boxing....atsch

 

TBH I do think that Frampton beats Quigg over 12 rounds, you are right about his performance after round 2 and on, but whilst you say Quigg might not produce that power again, there is an equal chance that he will. It is certainly a fight where I would not be surprised if either man won if I am honest.

 

I haven't changed my opinion. Quigg stops Frampton. I like them both but think Quigg too big, too strong and will catch up with him and wear him down.

Always thought that Quigg beats Frampton, nothing which has happened recently has changed my mind.
