    Based on his amateur achievements?

    And how do you think he would have fared in the pros?

    I think he was very talented and would have fared very well in the pros if developed properly. He had height, reach, speed, timing, sense of range, serious power, and that intangible winner's attitude. How far he would have gone is speculation, but he had the talent to go very far and would have been in the hunt for a legit championship at the very least.

    Didnt they talk about him fighting Ali around about the same time that Leon Spinks beat Ali?

    Things might have been very interesting at this time. If an inexperienced Spinks could beat Ali, is it really that much of a stretch for Stevenson to debut and beat and old and overconfident Ali?
